in 28 days, the guy wakes up alone, but within the first day finds 2 other survivors.

i love both movies, im just saying theyre different types of horror.

I agree, both were good, I just think 28 Days Later was better.
Although the kinda madness he went into in I Am Legend, the video store bit especially and the mannequin he saw on the bridge before he got caught in that rope sort of trap were especially good.

I think Will Smith is a fantastic actor btw, he seems to take to every role with no problems at all.

( I'm gonna have to say here though, I think Brad Pitt in 'Meet Joe Black' was astounding )

Really liked the movie. Will Smith was definately great. But, I have to say, for me the movie got screwed up when the girl came along. I was really enjoying all the weirdness and figuring out what was going on before that point.
I would have much prefered it if he stayed alone, and fixed the problem by himself.

Apparently if you get the special edition DVD there are alternate endings?

This movie was ok. Will Smith is one of my favorite actors and I can't wait to see his new one called Hancock.

dont bother. all the alternate ending is is:

SPOILERS

rather than blowing himself and the 'zombies' up, smith opens the door for them because he notices that what they want is the zombie he captured earlier in the movie. the lead zombie makes sure none of the others attack smith, they get their comrade back and leave. then the movie ends like the regular version, but all 3 of them go the the safe city because smith is still alive.

and if that wasnt a lousy enough alternate ending for you, its not even a special feature. its on another disc, and you have to watch the whole movie just to see the 2 minutes of changed footage.

Probably my favorite movie of all time.

The book is way better and isn't ruined by the movie, however. If you liked the movie and are able to grasp undertones (ie philosophical pondering on morality), then you pretty much have to read the book.

EDIT: hehehe sorry for thread necro, I saw the thread and had to post... its not like i went digging, it was still on the front page

thread necro again:

I just watched the movie yesterday. Its great but I'm kind of disappointed he had to die... I know, it was for bigger cause and all but still.... Also, I almost cried when Sam died.
