Im pretty new to the mod aspect of Titan Quest hoping someone could possibly help me out. Im running Immortal Throne V1.11 and I downloaded TQ defiler V1.0.0 only other mods I am running is shopMI I just barely installed and a no cd-crack. Game was slowing down referencing cdrom but Im using a legit game. I have read a zillion threads and not making heads or tails with the versions. Under the defiler mods section it supports 1.10 it looks like except 2 mods in there so I am guessing that is why the other mods do not work for me. This is one of my questions: to use the other mods do I have the wrong version of Defiler or is it just not supported for V1.11 IT? Secondly for the life of me I can not figure out how to use a custom map and transfer the character back to single player mode without losing everything from the custom map. I looked at the character- move to main quest and it is greyed out, I assume because im using IT. I tried to make a copy of character run a custom map but I can not move the character back to single player. Just want to buy a couple of things on shopMI I have been farming for several weeks now and losing my mind over lol. Sorry for long winded post any help on this would be great. Thanks

a lot of the features of Defiler are not enabled in the .NET version yet.

go here and get the VB6 version, Defiler v3.4.2. it is fully functional, and will do what you want.

Soul's progress on the .NET version got interrupted by RL and he has not finished it yet

Thanks for the info. You saved me a lot of time reading endless threads that do not cover the topic but show in a search on this. I will try that version out see if it fixes what I need. Thanks again. Edit: I downloaded defiler 3.4.2 and used with my game. The greyed out mods that I wanted work great so that is resolved. The no drop on white and broken items is great fun its like a difficulty increase and makes farming quite a bit more enjoyable. Now as for character moving I can not figure this portion of the game out and still have a question. I am opening shopMI buying 2 items I have been farming for weeks now but, I do not know how to get that character back to single player mode with the items bought. Is there a way to do this through defiler? Thanks for the info and hopefully someone can answer this one too.

OK. here is a step by step of the method i use with ShopMI

1. start TQIT
2. select "Play Custom Game"
3. click custom game to start, ShopMI
4. click "Import" on char select
5. click the "TQX Campaign Characters" tab
6. click on the char you want to use
7. rename char, i.e. MIShopper (at the very bottom of the import screen)
8. click the "Import" button
9. click "Start" to begin playing
10. when you're done, exit the game and CLOSE TQIT
11. start Defiler
12. click on your renamed char. MIShopper (Custom IT Quest)
13. after char loads and Defiler confirms
    1. click on Character -> Reset Unique ID <--VERY IMPORTANT
    2. click on "yes" button in confirmation dialog
    3. click on Character -> Copy To Main Quest
    4. click on "yes" button in confirmation dialog
    • (there should now be 2 MIShoppers is Defiler's list, (Main IT Quest) & (Custom IT Quest))
14. start TQIT
15. select "Play Titan Quest"
16. cycle through until you find MIShopper
17. click "Start" to begin playing
    • (char will be at the beginning of the game outside Helos)
18. go to Caravan and put you new items in the Transfer Area
19. exit game to Main TQIT Menu
20. Alt-Tab to Defiler
21. click on your renamed char. i.e. MIShopper (Custom IT Quest)
22. after char loads and Defiler confirms
    1. click on Character -> Delete Character (Permanent)
    2. click on "yes" button in confirmation dialog
23. click on your renamed char. i.e. MIShopper (Main IT Quest)
24. after char loads and Defiler confirms
    1. click on Character -> Delete Character (Permanent)
    2. click on "yes" button in confirmation dialog
    • (this is just cleanup to get rid of duped characters)
25. close Defiler
26. Alt-Tab to TQIT
27. start main quest with your main char
28. go to nearest Caravan, pick up your goodies, and play on

this method is a little more involved than just switching a char back and forth, but i like the extra comfort factor of knowing my primary char is never actually modified and there is less chance of char loss because of file corruption.

Thanks a ton for the very detailed reply it helped me out alot and I am able to finally do what I was looking to do. I have to admit I bought one more item than I wanted couldn't resist. I dont want to ruin the game but ended up getting 3 greens out of there lol. I actually figured out a way to do it after going through your process. I dont know if its much different but I made a copy of a character , imported it to custom bought stuff and then when defiler was open it gave me a option to just transfer to main quest. It seemed to always be greyed out before I dont know what changed but it worked like a charm. I really appreciate the post and great directions from you.

no probs. but here is a quote for ya, from the Defiler readme:

1-When you import a main quest character into custom quest, and then rename it, when copying back to main quest you cannot see the character at all. This is caused by the character’s unique ID being shared by the renamed character and the original character, ...

I was referred to this Defiler thingie because I asked about a specific option. Anyways, I just wanted to say this Defiler thing is great! I would've said this thing is "awesome" but the unlimited health/energy option is the stupidest option I've ever seen because it works for both player and monsters; it's a completely useless option. Other than that, I got no complaints and think it's great.

Btw, when will the unlimited health/energy options be made for player only???

Sorry everyone for my "disappearance" as of late. I've had a great many pressing IRL things to deal with and haven't had much time to put aside for the computer. Right now I can barely even get to the computer because of all the things that are piled up on the floor in here, and on top of that after installing that stupid service pack for Vista my computer was no longer able to boot....I almost lost the data on my backup raid even (which would have included the Defiler projects), but fortunately got lucky and the only thing I lost was all my recent emails including a great many from fans and users that I wasn't able to get a reply to...and for that I'm truly sorry.

I still won't be on very much I'm afraid, and the Defiler.NET will be put on hold indefinitely for the time being, but I will try to do my best to get caught up on missed posts and for those who didn't get a reply and want to resend their emails/characters for checking I'll be happy to do so, just remember it may take some time to get to it as I don't have much installed on here yet after having to go through about 4 Vista installs before my raid was working correctly again...no fault of Vista mind you but bad drivers that it installs if I don't hide the update (not to mention that horrible service pack, which I recommend to ONLY install after a fresh reformat!).

This will also be sent out via email newsletter when I get a chance, might not be until this weekend.

Again, sorry for vanishing like I did, I haven't done that before and I'd hate to start now before the Defiler is finished.
