umm i played x2 x3 and its fine but x4 doesnt work oO number of bosses doesnt change into 4 only 3, is that bug or what? and also what only xmax provides? i mean only xmax map not with x2 x3 x4?

The bosses should always be 3 with xmax. And I don't understand/know the rest of the post.

Bosses only spawn in 3's with the X mods.

Xmax simply caps out the spawns.

I did not read the whole thread but is there any issue while having bought the game off steam as this changes the position of the folder you extract to? Not that I could see why this would change anything but mine won't seem to work.

What I have done:

Made a folder called "custommaps" in the TQ:IT main folder.
Downloaded the 3x mod zip ~ 11kb. Saved this in the folder and exxtracted it here aswell. Then I ran the game while choosing custom quest and loaded my toon, now the "play" button can't be pressed and I don't see any options to chose the 3x mod modifier anywhere.

I guess I am missing some detail or w/e

The folder mustn't be in the main folder but rather in the user folder, which game creates in "X:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\".

You should create a "custommaps" folder in there and extract the mod so that the directory tree would look like this:
"X:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\custommaps\monsters-x2"
"X:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\custommaps\monsters-x3"
"X:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\custommaps\monsters-x4"
"X:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\custommaps\monsters-xmax"

It turned out that there was a TQ:IT folder in "my games" that I did not know of until just yet, I thought everything was placed within the steamfolders. It works when you redo the whole thing but just makes the map in the other folder as you also suggest kenpa007. Thanks alot for clearing this out, guess I learned another thing.

I'll add in a thanks as well, I started the game a few days ago but was bored of the random group of 5 mobs and slow leveling. This made the game more fun.

I have one question though; is it common to have to delete/re-import your character each time you want to use xmax?

I'll import then play xmax, exit and play normal, but then when try to go back to xmax it shows my old character which is usually a level or 2 lower.

With these mods (xmax) you do not need to import your character to play with it. You can just make a lvl 1 char and then click the xmax mod then click start, and it will take you to your main character in the campaign.

But, how do i set it to like 10 or 9? I can only got with 4
