I was comparing skills in Masteries and Vanilla and noticed that there's a definite lack of skills that give bonuses for allies instead of just the player. Those that do seem to be mostly triggered and have a small radius. And only Life Regeneration and Relief have synergy skills at all.
What I found fun about Vanilla TQ was having different characters who gave bonuses to each other that weren't attainable when playing alone. Alchemy: Philosopher's Stone - triggered and very small radius (6m) Archery: Signal of Attack (7-10m) - triggered, allies have to be in range at the trigger time Bestiary: Iaso adds regen and dmg resistance, but it never seems to be in range despite the large 15m radius Chronosophy: Life regen + Mana regen - useful, but triggered and small radius (10m) Close combat: Sharpened blade - the only passive aura that affects allies, but radius is very small (8m) Construction: Nothing, unless you count Sick Bay, which is good Mysticism: Relief + Conviction - good, but triggered and very small radius (8m) Sorcery: Nothing Vampirism: Nothing Defense: Battle Awareness + Focus + Iron Will (passive, 5-16m), Rally + Inspiration + Defiance (triggered, 10m) Dream: Trance of Empathy and Convalesence (passive, 15m) Earth: Earth enhancement + Brimstone + Stone Skin (passive, 6m) Hunting: Call of the Hunt + Exploit Weakness (triggered, 15m), Art of the Hunt + Find Cover + Trail Blazing (passive, 15m) Nature: Heart of Oak + Tranquility + Permanence (passive, 18m) Rogue: Blade Honing (passive, 16m) Spirit: Dark Covenant (triggered, 15m), Spirit Ward + Spirit Bane (triggered, 6m) Storm: Nothing Warfare: Battle Standard + Triumph (triggered, 12m) Most auras seem to have a radius around 6-10m in Masteries, while in Vanilla they're in the range of 10-15m. Is there a reason for this? To me it seems that when playing multiplayer, allies are mostly out of range, especially if one is playing melee and another ranged. There are also far more synergies in Vanilla, and the bonuses in many are useful for all classes. In Masteries, the bonuses are more specific and may only be useful for some classes (Signal of Attack, Sharpened Blade, Philosopher's Stone). So, can we get some multiplayer loving please? Larger radiuses, a few more synergies, make some passive auras affect allies as well, and maybe give something for the poor vampire as well? |
