Default What's everone playing?

Hey, I just started playing TQ again after about a year break and am loving this mod. Overall the mod makes the game feel faster. Many thanks to the creators.

I'm wondering what combinations of masteries everyone is enjoying, what skills you like, what strategies you are using, etc. I have a few fledgling characters in Act 1 normal. So far I've tried Mercenary, Battlemonk, and Beastmaster.

The Merc is shield/spear with feint on LMB, shield attack on RMB and sharpened blade as my only active aura so far. With all the passives that this combo has (shield ram, critical hit, wink, and micro sleep) mobs sometimes just seem to explode. The randomness of the procs is fun.

The Battlemonk is sword/shield with endorpin on LMB and cleric shield on the RMB. I found a fell blade near Megara and ever since then he has been a machine, flying around and applying white flame goodness to everything in sight w/cleric shield,double kill, and shield ram. I started using the cleansing line which seems pretty good. I am a bit concerned about stat allocation and am not sure if I need to pump some points into INT to keep this character effective.

The Beastmaster has been fun as well. Beatles, demons, and the horse have been my favorities. Unfortunately I don't think that I can continue with this character since my system often crawls with 10 pets out.

I've been playing a Myrmidon (Close Combat/Vampirism) and I'm enjoying it. He seems overpowered with maxed Sharpened Blade though, that skill rocks early on. I'm also enjoying the life leech and additional piercing damage from Vampirism. It's a really fun class combination.

Hey there,

I'm playing Necromancer (mage, for Implosion is God sent!), it is really great fun!! Awesome spells and great survivability!! I am really enjoying I can use melee armour and stuff like that, Necro looks a way better in it! Elemental Armor's and my two rings' -%str and dex requirements really rock there!!!!

The perfect class, the Occultist...

Disruption annihilates as usual, but if I happen to stride into some immune monsters then it's Exorcism-time, with Divine Energy thrown in just for fun...

i play an Enforcer and a Wizard.

but i haven't played in the patch yet, the mod inspired me to test a guardian build ....

I.n.s.a.n.e - Interesting combo. What skills are you using from the Vampire side? and which way - lightning or nosferatu? I've wanted to try a vamp caster and wondered if many of the skills like reguritation and blood burst would hold up in later difficulties.

Viper - Another interesting caster combo. I do have a alchemist at lvl 7 but it has been rather slow going so far. I have been thinking about picking up Exorcism with my battlemonk instead of the cleansing line (it's pretty mana heavy).

Kcrknp - are you using a shield or dual? I agree sharpened blade is very strong in the begining. I suspect that it will fall off a bit as mobs health increases.

I am dual-weilding and 1 shotting every normal monster I come across, quite fun, but gets quite boring quickly. I also suspect the usefulness of sharpened blade will fall off because it gives flat piercing damage.

Vampirism:

I am using Nosfi Way, for it has very fast casting speed increase and dmg resist, which I found very useful along with my melee armour pieces.

I was using Regurgitation for a while on Normal, it was killing almost everything but it was not that strong on Epic, for I did not aim for +%dmg stuff.

What I found there VERY usefull though, was Sickness!! It is really outstanding skill on Normal/Epic/Legendary!!!!! Perfect as attacking skill and also as debuff one! And spreading VERY faaaaaaast...

Maxed Bloodshield for pierce resistances and also vitality one, otherwise I would be dead thousand times in Hades with that low hitpoints...

Few points in Metamorphosis for mana regeneration.

2 Vampiric Bats with Bat Bite for distraction and dmg.

I was using Vibrancy A LOT on Normal, because of dmg reduction, but I found myself keeping very high aggro so I put points elsewhere for Epic...


Sorcery:


Maxed Frosty Clutch for immobilization.

Maxed Avalanche for awesome spell damage!

Maxed Elemental Armour for dmg resist and especially for -%requirements.

Maxed Elemental Prism for additional dmg boost.

One point in Meteor and Chasm for additional against-crowd dmg.

Maxed Implosion as perfect LMB attack.

I was also using Fireball and Insane Discharge (personal reasons, hehe) on Normal and Epic for the area of effect dmg, I will max Insane Discharge for Legendary again, its dmg is perfect with +%lightning stuff.
