Default Lilith - Tips, Hints and Guides

Mods - feel free to change the thread name if required.

Have to agree with Mostal and others that a thread like this should exist to support the great Lilith mod. Thought that any help/advice given would get a bit lost in the main Lilith thread, which could be used more for discussion purposes. However I will leave the decision of where this thread heads up to you lot.

Big shout out to Mostal and his team for creating such a good mod

NB this thread is likely to contain SPOILERS so be aware of this when browsing pls.

Post Re: Lilith - Tips, Hints and Guides

Ok since I started the thread figured I should be the first to add something, hopefully, useful to it. To be honest this is a short (very rough) guide just to get you up and running at the start especially aimed at those that haven't played the mod before. These are just really my own thoughts, others may will have different ideas.

When you start you have no equipment but have a few coins in your pocket. Speak to the relevant npcs to get you instructions. Before you leave the village and head out into the forest have a look in the field on the left where the farmers are, right at the back tucked up next to the fence there is a chest which might give you something to help you out. If not go and buy some stuff from the merchant who has very basic low level stuff. I would recommend having a bow (every char can use a basic bow, or a staff if you prefer basically something long ranged) and A LOT of health potions ( I use defiller and have the potion stacking option on).

When you leave the village speak to the little girl - Zara - then head up the left hand side near the river. There you should first come across some spiders. These move slowly and should allow you to hit and run without getting hit to get a few xp. The forest is full of packs of boars. I try and 'pick' off the ones at the edges of the pack when i can because as soon as you disturb one any others that are nearby come charging at you and at your low level you will get swamped and die quickly. You should be able to get a few arrows off before the boar gets to you. If you were fortunate enough to get a melee weapon/shield combo then switch to this and finish the boar off. Obviously if you get a pack charging at you all at once you can guzzle a potion and stick around till your health gets low at which point running off is a good option till you can regain your health, just try not to run into another pack! Not very technical I know but that is your main tactic for a while.

I would suggest not going further than the first part of the woods until you have levelled up a bit or have some better gear as there are packs of wolves in the next part which are fast and deadly to a brand new char.

If you have killed everything in the lower area of the woods and dont feel ready to go further simply reload the game which will reset all the boars/spiders etc and allow you to kill them again and gain more xp. Do this till you feel you are ready to go on.

Btw your two quests are on either side of the road, the main Boar is on the left side in a small area in the trees and the infamous log containing Zara's turtle is way over on the right*. Once you feel ready to head on a bit just carry on and clear out the rest of the forest.

There are three exits from the forest BUT these apply to different parts of the quest and entering the wrong area at the wrong time can be deadly for your char as you will meet much higher level monsters. Stick to the quest, which should take you eastwards to a underground cave entrance, 'sinister underground passage' it's called I believe.

When you enter the passage kill off the spiders and head immediately to your right there you will see a blue flame like item. This is a RESTPOINT. If you are killed further on you will appear in the village, go the town portal and there will be a small statue next to it which will allow you to go back to this restpoint and save you walking all the way. Each time you get to a restpoint if you activate it by walking to it, like a rebirth fountain, a statue will appear next to the NEAREST PREVIOUS WAYPOINT, not always in the starting village. When you die you always start at the village so you may have to take a portal to the nearest wp that you died at THEN use the statue to get to the (presumably nearer) waypoint. There can be multiple waypoints at each portal which are clearly marked when you mouse over them so make sure you get the right one

That's it for the very early part of the game. Hopefully by this point you will have a couple of levels of a mastery and a stack of potions.

I know it's very basic but hopefully that will get someone started and past, what can be a frustratingly difficult area to the new player.

All I can add is that if you are having problems it might be worth farming for venom sac relics which will add some nice poison damage to your bow/staff and help your hit 'n' run tactics.

For those feeling adventurous and want to level a bit quicker if you head north to the swamps you should be able to pick off the first few spitting plants you encounter there by staying just out their range and using your bow. You can even go on slightly and take out the first few crocs and turtles, hitting and running as before as even at basic speed you should be able to outrun them. Any extra poison damage is very helpful here. Don't go too far as you will soon be waaay out your depth. So kill a few, get the xp, and head back and carry on with your quest.

*EDIT after trying a few chars I have discovered the turtle log can be in different places, other place I have found it is just up from the entrance to the area with the big wild boar.

here is an easy way to defeat kolpsos in kolopsos's lair.. just make him follow you to this large green bush and there he will get stuck , so you can beat him with a copper knife and he will be helpless

despite looking up several posts on how to find it, i still can't seem to locate Zara's toad in the forest...

i know it's in a log which i need to attack. this log is in the earlier part of the woods, before wolf packs start appearing, and likely on the side of the road. but i still can't find the thing despite 10+ runs through the forest. tried reloading my game and still no luck.

could i get some help here? like if someone could post a screenshot of what this infamous log looks like and/or typical locations, that would help a lot.

For me it was near the eastern border of first part of Soul Forest (where's boars and spiders only).
It could be so close to the edge of the area you wouldn't notice. Looks like a clickable log, colored lighter than usual in my case.

Can't see the wood (in this case the log) for the trees? (sorry couldn't resist)

Up to now (3-4 chars) I have found the same as the above poster that if you hug the eastern tree line you will come across the log before you leave the first part of the forest. However I just tried another char and it wasn't there so presumably it moves (anyone found it anywhere else?) I found it by using a wolf and setting it to agressive and he started attacking the log before i even noticed it, so this may work if you want to work out possible locations.

are you suggesting that any pet set to agressive will attack the log? that would be great !

afaik it would. EDIT just tried it with a spirit pet and yeah when set to aggressive it attacked the log.

It's like the building near the inner gates at asteria that for some reason you can attack, I was passing it when a couple of my pets on another char starting shooting/biting it

Yep, I put 1 point into the wolf so I'd find the log.

It was worth it. :w00t:
