Sounds good, but afaik the admins are non-existent on this forum. Anyone know any better? If we had dependable mods on the forums, that way if people were lazy it'd get fixed pronto.

The admins are around -- in addition to the original one(s) (LANLocked is the only one who comes to mind there) employed by the site's owners, Batman and Gene recently got upgrades. They seem very active.

The new Masteries Mod got some new real estate recently, so if things really take off and you put together a solid argument about why subsections really would make things much easier, I don't think it'd be out of the question.

Then again, I don't work for the site (I just poke them to get it back up if it's down), so don't take this as official word or anything. I'd imagine you'd need to lay your argument out well.

I had seen that Batman had been offered, I thought he had declined the position... well, thats nice to know!

I know we are all reasonable adults so I'm sure we could work something out... my biggest fear is the forums will degrade... I have been a member of some great forums, but also of a few not-so great forums, too.

These forums are here for you all. If you have any suggestions post them in the Site News and Feedback area.

We are here to help, not hinder.

Q: Anyone else think that a patch like this should change the attributes of Nature to 32 STR/32 INT/32 DEX instead of keeping them the way they are?

Not for me.

I think this is where the community patch is inevitably headed - evening out all the masteries and skills so that, no matter what you choose, you get the same "not too weak, not too strong" toon at the end.

It's the reason why I don't like play-balancing by committee/popular vote, and why I have no interest in a balancing patch.

No not for me.
By doing a balancing patch we are changing the game and it's fundamental principles. The game after the patch is not going to be Titan Quest any more.
(it's the same thing as the masteries mod. It's fun - i like it - i play it but it's a mod it's not Titan Quest)

That is correct. If all goes well, it's gonna be better than Titan Quest. I don't cling to random game design - the game is badly balanced, and I'm sure if IronLore would have had the funds they would've made some major balance changes themselves. Just look at Act 4, for example, it's a lot harder than any of the other acts. To me, that indicates that they weren't satisfied with the game's difficulty.
Or look at Stinging Nettle - as one guide said it "yes, it is indeed as bad as it sounds". An utterly useless skill. Also, some weapons are way overpowered (SBC's come to mind). Unless you don't mind playing seriously gimped characters, you're almost forced to put them on with most builds.
Well, that's my 2 cents. You know what they say; opinions are like @$$holes...

Anyway, the good thing will be that nobody is forced to use the balance patch - the patch that is currently developed is for fixes only and will be advised for all TQ:IT players.

I support a balance patch, though I'd prefer to see bugs fixed first.

While it is debatable what skills should be adjusted (IMHO Dream should be nerfed), I am actually more interested in having the inventory balanced. Many original TQ uniques need to be made more powerful or requirements adjusted, so that they are more meaningful (read: useful) in the context of TQ: IT. Eg. firewalker/pyromancer's set.
