Thumbs down Set Items

I don't know. I'm fustrated over the set items. I can't even come close to getting a full set and the VERY few Set Items I am able to find are for classes other than what I use.
I'm mainly a Melee type player and almost all the few ( 3 in normal and only 2 the next) were for Magic type users.
That and the fact that 2 of the 3 Set Items I found in Normal were the same item but the stats were different. It just confounds me that I can't find any good set items and the few I get aren't of any use. To make matters worse in Epic and normal the stats are really different and if I use a normal and an Epic together they don't allow the bonuses

Nomal and Epic together? Eh?

There are different sets for Normal and Epic difficulties.

The sets tend not to be that good anyway. Don't worry about them. Non set epic and legendary items are usualy better.

What? Correct me if I'm wrong, there is no such thing. From top of my head and use the Theban set as an example, there is no purple Theban. Unless I haven't come across one.

The only thing I found weird in TQ/IT is there is one GREEN set items "Erebus **** "

I just held onto the items I found in normal hoping to make a full set of something. I was hoping for better resistances and stuff. It's a real drop and getting my resists and things higher as I go up is a real challange as most of what I find just doesn't seem to give enough to get very far out of the negatives.

Glad we're on a subject of sets. There are a few sets in the game that do not give any set bonuses. E.g the set with the Armor of Tireless soldier, Diokenes' boots and also bracers and helmet with some names for that set. All that stuff looks identical in theme colour, shape, etc. And I am sure it's a set as I've seen my bro play on one map that he downloaded that has ALL of the epic and legendary items including sets (cheater lol) and those above mentioned items stood together in a set. What does everyone think?

What does Gamebanshee say?

@rogue
regardless of your feelings bosses are still probably the best way to go about finding items. Since search for sets or items are the same thing... the only thing you might want to look out for is that certain bosses can't drop certain types of items... wrist armor or headgear I forget who and what, but you can try searching for it... maybe it was just a certain legendary marsh boss... but It might have been the telekines...

the tireless soldier is just some stuff that fits together. Same for the templar (templar's brain-cage, templar's zeal, greaves of the royal cavalry and greaves i don't remember, fit together great, but it ain't a set)

They may look resemblant but they are not sets. Looking at their attribute, there is no reference to other items. I have the Tireless Soldier, Diokenes' boot, and the bracer (don't remember the name). They look cool; look like robot cop especially on a thin body frame of the female character.

It's by chance. Some time I could play for 8 hours straight and find no craps The only sets I completed are "Theban", "Lazarus", "Obisidian", "Emperor"
The sets in TQ/IT are not that good. Some individual Green, Blue, and Purple are better.
