What set is this?

I was playing online last night with my Warden (68) and joined a legendary Olympus run group. I was kinda bored so I figured, "What the heck, xp is tough these days - might as well meet some new people and own a few Titans."

What I didn't know is that the person who ran the map had set up Olympus to have like 4 typhoons and 3-4 toxeus - so I ran straight in, thinking I would impress them, seeing as I usually rock legendary typhoon with my warden who has 11k base dps and hits for 20k ish after my battle buffs (Colossus, Call of the hunt, etc).

After lasting maybe half a second, I stared in awe at my loading screen - completely embarrassed and shocked at what had just happened. I tp'd back, and after the people stopped laughing at my noobness we developed a strategy to take them down - which was follow the diviner in and let her run around while we pulled the numerous toxeus' back to the stairs and take em out one by one then finish off the Typhoon's.

So I popped on my undead resist stuff and laughed at Toxeus as the Templar, Conqueror and I destroyed him (payback for giving me nightmares the night after my first visit through the Secret Passage) . By the time we were done with that murdering tard, we ran into the arena to help the Diviner, but when we arrived the Diviner was chilling amongst 4 skeletons and a ****-ton of loot O.o

I kept running with the group a bit more - and needless to say - The Diviner never ceased to impress me.

At first I figured she was hacking or had modded her character somehow (dunno much about that, but I hear it's easy to do.) But every once in a while
she would mess up and die ( but not near as much as everyone else might I add). Regardless I figure if someone is going to hack their char, why make it possible to die once?

What interested me the most however was the Diviner's choice of gear. I'm not really sure what set she had - but it looked like some kind of ethereal plate armor. It had big shoulders and a Trojan looking helm (plume and such), as well as some plate looking boots. The textures were somewhat transparent as the armor was clear green/blue and you could see the characters tunic and skin. All of her armor (helm chest feet) matched and she had a Shield and Sword as well.

Does anyone know what set that could be? I would have taken a screenshot, but I wasn't really thinking about it at the time as I was too busy gaping in awe at the character's performance. She may very well be a hacked character, dunno, and if that's the case it was probably some kind of skin modification - but to my knowledge, when you change the skin of something on your game, you edit the actual graphic on your machine only and it should look like the original to everyone else.

Regardless, if anyone can help me thanks in advance, and if not - I hope you all enjoy my little story.

Edit: The Diviner's name was Reaper if I recall correctly.

The bold part sounds like the Wraith Cage and other Wraith armor, but the rest of your description does not. It's too bad you didn't get a screenshot. I would be interested in seeing what was up there, since the Wraith stuff turns non-transparent when put on by a PC and I have been trying to mod it so that it doesn't.

Maybe you can contact the player again and ask what's up.

I ran across someone else with the gear today, they only had the bracers and feet though and did not speak English. I asked them what armor they had and they said Diomede, then I asked if they used a mod and they said "Yes, of champions" So apparently you can mod the appearance and make it appear to others online as well - is it really that simple?

have no clue what mod that is though :S

Isnt that Diomedes boots, Melanus' Grip and Bladeturn/Deimos (re-skinned)...

Anw.. I dunno but i d like to try that mod.. Alone .. a few Typhons and a few Toxeus.. Sounds real interesting xD..

About that Diviner, I am not sure, but as much as I understood, could it be one of these armor sets by any chance?

The Diviner looked a bit more like the bottom one, but i'm not 100% sure. However, knowing that the picture I posted was just a reskinned item, the Diviner probably just re skinned whatever set they had to make it look unique.

So I guess now that we've figured out the person was just using a reskinned set, Does anyone know how to re skin armor like that? Like I mentioned before - I thought re skinned stuff only appeared on your PC - not to everyone online. If anyone knows anything about it, thanks in advance :P

I'm not sure that is a skin. Like you, I think reskinned items only appear on their users' computer unless the other players also have the skin .tex available.

I think they may have an item that casts a Skill "on equipping" which uses a special effect to make the item transparent - a special effect that is already in the game files so it will show up for everyone.

Yes, you can do that - my character here http://www.titanquest.net/forums/gam...tml#post185750 actually has her "Aura of Narcolepsy" on the loading screen.

Or possibly just changing the transparency in the item's dbr is enough to make it appear transparent to other players.

Hmm... that could be it possibly - I figured since he was the host of the game perhaps any changes he made to the DBR's would just show up for everyone else, but then why would it show in the lobby? Maybe changing your DBR does show up to everyone online... who knows, i'll do some more research and keep you guys posted.
