Default Skills with Charge Levels and Staffs

If I have a skill that charges up with successive hits, does it work with only melee weapons or with staffs as well? Bows?

Does it depend on the skill?

Depends on skill, most tell you up front of there is limitations. Psionic touch is the only one I know of that works with a staff. Ternion also works with a staff, though it's not a charged skill.

I think Onslaught might be only with melee weapons and Calculated strike too, but not entirely sure.

Onslaught and Calculated Strike work with bows - don't depend on them, though. Any bow user without the Marksmanship tree will see his stopping power fall off dramatically by late Epic.

@ I_Raps

Or earlier.. I cant even imagine one that wields a bow w/o Marksmanship that go all the way till end Epic.. I ll give him the most to end normal.. While its possible to go further, it just falls WAYY short compared to other options..

So Hunting mastery is pretty much a MUST have for a bow character. Now I wonder if it's possible to have a really crazy build for a bow user without the hunting mastery.

Could try a -recharge rogue/x i suppose, using LS as your default ranged attack.

Assuming you could deal with the Energy cost somehow, that still leaves the problem that without PunctureShot/Scattershot/Volley, it's still at least one shot per monster - no area- or multi- effect at all.

I'm presently building a magician and a sorcerer bow user...this is under the Sorcher and Archcian thread. Feel free to take a peek. I must agree without volley and scatter shot, crowd control will be a problem....I'm planning on using flash powder, thunderball and volcanic orb for that matter.
