Drops!

Hi.

I got IT a couple weeks ago and have been playing through from the beginning with a new character.

I had heard that drops are bad in IT, but this is ridiculous. I am halfway through greece and have seen nothing but yellow. No green, no blue, and certainly no purple.

Is there a mod or something that helps with this?

Also, I'm not getting anything having to do with artificats at all. I'm not even sure what to look for, bu I think I'm supposed to occasionally find artifact formulas dropped on the ground by killed creatures, correct? Well this hasn't happened yet, but maybe I'm being impatient.

Kris you wont , see any purple drops till your playing on epic difficulty , you wont see many blues on normal either and greens are called rare because they are that , RARE!

Where in normal Greece are you exactly? I think with my first ever character, the first blue I ever found was in Lower monster war camp. They are pretty rare in first two acts. You'll find ore of them in acts 3 and 4. In terms of greens, you should be able to get some. At least stuff like Outrider's buckler from Centaurs or one of those bracers of the gryffin or something. But yet again, in acts 1 and 2 you won't find too many, in acts 3 and 4 they drop repeatedly.

If memory serves me right, I had gotten to the middle of Act II before I had a blue drop. End of Epic for my first purple.

Wow! That's unlucky. I remember my first legendary dropped in Rhakotis library Epic with my first character.

the earliest i ever got an epic was level 6 on my brigand. of course, i had a week of amazing luck and got 3 greens and 2 epics by the time it was up.


my first epic ever i got was the Labryinthine Bracers off the gorgons in greece. your best bet if you need gear is to fight the first telkine a few times (if you want it legit...otherwise, get TQ Defiler). alternatively, you COULD hang out in online games for a generous soul, but you'd probably be better off finding your own gear. take shorter.

The earliest epic I've ever found was Necromancer's leggings from Satyr Shaman's primitive chest, but that was with one of my later characters.

What's even more fun is later you will find the same old purples and blues more than once! Ha well it does happen and sometimes within the same hour.

But I agree Normal for items is just excruciating, the best things I ever found were Outriders Tunic and Shield which I think I was still using late in Normal. But it will pick up in Eqypt or very late Greece.

Also, consider playing another character at the same time, there is more loot to share in the caravan that way.

Not sure why people think the drop rate in this game is draconian, there are games that have droprates that redefine stingy. My illusionist scored 4 epics, 3 rares and some other nice low end loots before reaching Knososs. Now granted my templar has been having absolutely shoddy luck haven gotten 0 epics, and 2 rares that are of zero use to me at the same junction...that's just the nature of the beast I suppose

I think drops are much better than D2, but not too good that you get bored of getting items. I have completed legendary with two characters now, and there are still tons of stuff I have not seen, and I am happy about that.
