Question Beginner: where to start? TQ or IT?

I just bought the Titan Quest/Immortal Throne combo off of Steam and I'm not sure where I should have started playing. Annoyingly, Steam doesn't seem to provide any sort of online version of the manuals or documentation beyond the readme.txt file. A .pdf of the manual is the least they could do, I think.

I created a character in Titan Quest and got through the first village. But then I tried starting a character in Immortal Throne, and it looks like you start at the same spot. I'm assuming that means that I can play through both the original TQ campaign and the new IT stuff from IT?

So can/should I move my character over to IT and just just play the whole game from there? Is there any reason for me to run the original TQ exectuable at all?

Thanks!

essentially, IT is the same thing with new items, caravan storage, enchanters, the snazzy new dream mastery, and an additional act at the end of the game

long n short? stick to IT

Yeah picking up IT for me was a godsend, not only did it allow me to scrap my craptastic Illusionist for a much sleeker and sexier Templar. The added NPCS (especially caravan) are great.

Just so that you see there is another point of view. IMHO, you do get one minor advantage by reaching Epic TQ with your first character, before importing him/her into IT. You will have access to items found/bought in Epic level when you play Act 4 Normal, giving you a bit of an edge. I am not saying that's what you should do, but things are not quite that clear cut.

This happened to me by default as I have already completed Normal before IT was released. It did make me appreciate the new IT features more.
