Alternate skill window question?

Hi, I just got IT and I was trying to use the hot-key to change the skill windows;it looks like the bracket key,but it doesn't seem to work.I can change skill windows using the icon-but thats the only way. Anyone have any suggestions?

I assigned it to 'b' and it works fine. You're talking about the skill selection hot bar, right?

Yeah, it looks like in the manual the brackets key-but it doesn't work.And in the hotkeys there are no choices listed. I'll try just entering a key-its a pain using the icon

Got it working,I just had to enter a default key-then it let me change it.

That's good. What was the default key then?

It was listed as the "Y" key which wasn't easy to work with, so I changed it to the "B" as well. That's a really nice feature, as you build more skills it'll be very handy. I'm going to have to list my build here soon-I'm up to level 17,and I'm starting to wonder about some of the skills I'm choosing-at least with IT I can make some changes.

Yeah, the more skills you have the more choices you get and the more interesting it gets.

lol I don't know what you guys are doing but I got enough space in 1 skill bar

I've got the whole first one filled(although I like to keep 2 slots open for health and energy)and a couple in the alternate filled. I'm still at a stage(Level 19) where I'm playing around to see which work best.

You aren't likely to run out of the numbers in a hotbar if you're playing a pure melee type character, but with hybrids and pure mages you get much more active skills than passive ones and so need more space on the hotbar. Plus soon you'll start getting scrolls (in particular for completing secondary quests in act 4) so you'll need a lot of space on a hotbar for those. My assassin (who is a pure melee class) already ran out of space on one hotbar.
