Default Mythology: I thought Hades is the oldest, no?

I was at wikipedia site trying to findout the mythology behind Hades. I've always thought Hades was the oldest, then Poseidon, and then Zeus. Also, I'm kind of confused about the Titans and Olympian Gods. If Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, and their sibling sisters were born from Titans (Cronus and Rhea), shouldn't they be the Titans?

From wiki:

Quote:
In Greek mythology, Hades (the "unseen"), the god of the underworld, was a son of the Titans, Cronus and Rhea. He had three younger sisters, Hestia, Demeter, and Hera, as well as two older brothers, Poseidon and Zeus: the six of them were Olympian gods.

No definitive answers here but you need to remember that mythology often strays from logic. Just because Titan beget titans does not mean that titans always beget titans... classic example is that usually when you cut somethings head off it is dead, though on occasion the bodyless head of some creatures have been known to still bite... my point... logic is an enemy of Mythology and should be taken very lightly.

Yeah, I think Hades was the oldest. Wikipedia does not always get the facts right. However mythology is a very unclear subject and the same story can be told in different ways. E.g. After killing Hydra Herakles dipped the ends of his arrows in its blood/bile/saliva.
That's just one little deviation, but there are also much bigger ones.

I understand. Basically it's a myth and a myth can be told in any way shape or form and can be twisted every other way.

Thanks guys...

Yep Zeus is the youngest as all the other gods where eaten Cronus on birth until Rhea saved one who was Zeus who then killed Cronus and freed the rest.

Look in Cronus entery on wikipedia and your find;

Cronus learned from Gaia and Uranus that he was destined to be overcome by his own son, just as he had overthrown his father. As a result, although he sired the gods Demeter, Hera, Hades, Hestia, and Poseidon by Rhea, he swallowed them all as soon as they were born to preempt the prophecy. When the sixth child was born, Zeus, Rhea sought Gaia to devise a plan to save them and to eventually get retribution on Cronus for his acts against his father and children. Rhea secretly gave birth to Zeus in Crete, and handed Cronus a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes, also known as the Omphalos Stone, which he promptly swallowed, thinking that it is his son.

So Zeus is the youngest of the 6 elder gods.
