Default Question about Immortal Throne gameplay

Ok, I've got the original Titan Quest and have a couple characters going (one in Epic and a couple in Normal). Now lets say I go out and get the Immortal Throne, how does that merge in with the original game and characters already in progress? Does it just add the extra world/quests to the end of the game after Olympus and you keep going? What if I start a new character, will they be able to use the Dream mastery while playing through the original Titan Quest? I am just unsure as to how exactly the two games work together, any clarification would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You do play original TQ missions in Immortal Throne as well, it's just instead of going straight to act 1 Epic you'll go to act 4 Normal after killing Typhon and only then go to act 1 Epic. Same is for legendary. Plus you'll get much more items in IT and also caravans which allow you to transfer items between your characters.

Ok, I think I follow. So if I were to get Immortal Throne right now and install it, would it be better to start a new character from the beginning of Normal, Start a new Epic campaign with a character that I just completed normal mode with on original TQ, or import a character into Immortal Throne and pick up wherever I left off?

Artifacts were introduced in IT. They require relics and charms from norma/epic/legendary difficulty. So if you already have a character in epic normal TQ, and you import it to IT, there's a good chance you have to go back and farm for thse ingredients.

I'd say import a character to IT.

When the character is imported, does the game pick up right where you left off in normal TQ or start back from the beginning of the difficulty campaign?

The game imports every details of your character: level, XP, items, places you've been in and where stopped, etc.

I think if you have other characters to farm on normal then it is OK because via caravan you can transfer those relics to your Epic character.
