It happens in single player too.

Really? Ok, that's a new one then. I've never seen this once, it has to be a hardware issue. Memory timing, overheating of the GPU something like that. I mean, from a purely logical point of view, if it happens on some systems, and not on others and is not unique to online (networked) games, then the only thing left is hardware.
I have a AMD X2 4600+ CPU ATI XTX 1950 GPU 3 Gigs Corsair RAM. Onboard AC97 Audio. Does Ironlore/THQ have any clear idea of the issue? Cheers, Digit |

As far as I remember, rubberbanding (RB) didn't occur prior to IT. One of the des said it's something in the engine, and they'd have to do a lot of work to get it fixed.
Better hardware helps ofcourse. Does TQ/IT benefit from more than 1 GB ram in XP? Task manager shows only about ~600MB of memory usage..

I don't really know how much more RAM helps. I still get stutters in the Tower of Judgement, which really irks me. From what I saw earlier it seemed that some high spec PCs also suffer the issue. My thought process is as follows:
Happens both MP and SP, so it's not networking. Currently those with the issue cannot play the game, as it's a showstopper. We don't know the precise cause, and it's weird that it happens on some hardware yet not others, so there is either a hardware setting or a software setting in the OS that affects it. If the devs reveal exactly what the cause is, and their thoughts on what can affect it, maybe some of those who cannot play currently, can work around it. Cheers, Digit |

A developer has stated that the stuttering was due to a change in the way the the engine deals with content loading. To make matters worse the programmer responsible has since left the company.
Then we get to the whole publisher debacle. THQ own the game and they havent allocated any more resources to IL to patch the game, which is a travesty. IL is not a cash rich company being a relatively new player but have said they may at least release a "balance" patch in their own time in the future. It is without a doubt a crying shame, IL are one of the most talented teams around it seems Titan quest has held my attention more than any other game in recent memory. and I hope they are able to keep afloat and give us more great new titles.

Yeah I read that already and am all too familliar with the publisher - developer relationship as I am a Game Designer myself, in a studio in Australia. The thing that still rings a little bell for me, is that some people have the issue, and others don't... why is this?
