I am a newbie using a bow fighter and my friend told me to put in 400 dex and the rest to str, since dispite the game discription because str also increase range damage, range attack never miss if the arrow did not shoot somewhere else and range attack does not critical so offensive ability is useless.
However I think offensive ability did increase damage, I use the net which decrease the enemy defensive ability by 33% and kill monster faster. A monster that take 5 hit to die will be dead in 3 hits, 3 hit to die take 2 hits. So what do the gurus here think? Increase more dex or str is better? let str be enough to wear armor and the rest in dex? How much did str increase damage? 5 str = 1 damage or 1 str = 1% damage? How about dexterity? did dexterity increase damage by percentage? How did offensive ability increase damage? difference of offensive ability and enemy defensive ability = % of critical damage? or bonus damage? Do int increase spell damage? Any help is much appreciated, thank you very much. |

I read this:
Which contradicts your assumption that dex increases pierce damage by a percentage value only. This means that you need to reevaluate your argument. |

No. The flat amount is probably minor when compared to what you get from the percentage gain lategame. That's the way it is for strength, and there's no reason why it should be different for dex. Besides, enough people have crunched the numbers on str vs dex, which means I don't need to do it.

What's more important in Dexterity is not the Pierce damage but the Offensive and the Defensive Ability. I pump every point into DEX as much as I could. I pump point into Strength if I want to wear armors those required strength. And I pump to Intelligence if I want to wear armors those required Intelligence.
