I'm having a hell of a time besting Hades in Epic with my Battlemage. I love this character, but it seems when Hades takes his second form I can't do damage to him.
In his first form I can lob the fireballs and lay eruptions down for him, but after he dies the first time, I can't damage him that way... the eruptions and fireballs can't reach him. I can do a lot of damage when I melee him, but I can't stay in there very long - he stuns me and I can't heal before he kills me. If I use Horn of The Ancients he seems to stun and kill them immediately. Using a staff is just a joke... Anyone have any tips, or recommend a good scroll for me? Thanks! I've died about 20 times now and it's starting to get on my nerves ![]() |

Okay, I just kicked his ***... I decided to go through my caravan and see what i could muster. Instead of my heavy DPS build, I found an artifact that gave me 100% vitality resist and then a helm with an *** load of defence ability... I also changed to a faster weapon. So even though my paper doll DPS was much lower, Hades was a breeze.

Gz on beating the old fart...Ah, so it helps to have Vit res ? Nice to know...
Against him I make sure to have full Stun resistance, being melee I have no other options really. I myself switched from a high dps gear to a fast attack gear, I topped my IAS at 199% to maximize dw triggers - not bad. I can't really tank him though, that is, maybe after I find some better equipment. Did you have more troubles with the nova-like attack or with the Wave-like one (flying form) ? |

The Wave-like form was the hardest for me because his first form I can hit him with m fire attacks and just kite him aroud, but I can't do any kiting after he switches forms and he doesn't take any damage from my fire attacks.
The Vitality resist was amazing... the blue orbs and things he shoots in his flying form did next to no damage to me, so even if I did get stunned I was able to take the damage as opposed to without it where I would be dead with one hit. I agree, stun resist would be great too... that circle-stun he does is a killer for melee, and I don't have much for stun. I just ran in, hit him a few times, and ran out ![]() |

I haven't beaten him on Epic yet, but almost there. I always tend to have high Stun resistance so I think that would be a must for this fight. I am thinking of using either Sky's rage or Crushing Vortex scrolls. They never fail me.

To be honest I found Hades' second form much easier than his first. His attacks in second form seem to be much weaker. I just basically used melee on him when he was in second form.
