Why are quest items purple?

Why, oh why, must they taunt me so?

I mean, seriously, you're doing some boss runs for legendaries, and some of these bosses always drop a quest item, and for a split second, you're like "Cuneform Tablet, YESSSSS! Oh, wait...."

You'd think I'd get used to it, but seeing that flash of purple is always exciting, even if it's just for a second. It's especially harsh when that quest item is the *only* purple thing that drops. Or worse, the only thing that isn't yellow or white.

Or am I the only one with this problem?

Nope, I've been playing for more than a year and I still get the nagging thought flitting in my brain, "Porphoryon's Breastplate, Porphoryon's Gauntlets, Ravenous Atruscan Mace of Alacrity, Porphoryon's iPod, oh.. Key of the Warden of Souls!!!.... oh yeah.... drat.... NEXT!"

I get that all the time too. It is really annoying, but I don't really mind it at all that much.

Man of man do I get palpitations every time a quest item drops and I mistake it for a legendary item.

Chiron's Bow anyone?

definitely Helios my huntress got it and i tried to equip as she uses a bow

completely shattering blow to freedom

Now there's a great idea for a mod! After returning your quest item to the proper source, you can quit the game and get it again. How about a mod that will allow you to use it?

I wonder how can you use a stone tablet, lol. But at least you might be able to use a family heirloom and Chiron's bow. Sounds good.

THQ SHOULD HAVE MADE QUEST ITEMS RED OR ORANGE,
