Question How to experiment. Saving game?

Hi,
I have hard time understanding how I could experiment in this game. For example trying out something in altar or whatever.... I want to be able to sort of "load a game" from well known state.

What I did for example is made "Save game" ...then sold an item and exit from game. When I entered again..item was lost!! So what does this "save game" do at all.

Do I have to make some tricks with savedata files or something? If so anyone know which one exactly?

Regards,
JD

I've long wondered what "Save Game" actually did. From what I can tell, it has absolutely no use. I don't think I've clicked that button for 6 months now and it certainly didn't affect my game negatively.

To answer your question. Your "save" if you want to call it that is the characters folder. Save a copy of it somewhere else on your drive and you can restore it if you don't get the results you want for whatever you're doing.

Then there are other programs like Defiler and TQVault that allow some sort of modifications, haven't used them so I can't provide any more info then that.

The "save game" feature is to insure your character data is saved incrase of a game or computer crash or power outage. When you exit the game it will also perform a save. I've had a few times where the game crashed and came back only to have to do it over again, so I generally hit save if I do something important, like find a legendary item, just to be safe.

If you want to experiment, you could find your characters data in the savedata folder and copy it somewhere else, and back it up if you don't like what happened, but this is not really recommended.

Also, if you want to dupe items using TQVault, you boot up the character you want, minimize the game, and open up TQVault. You remove the items using TQVault and close TQVault. If you want to dupe the same items again you have to go back into the game and save to refresh TQVault.
