Question IT: Difficulty level and some questions?

Hey,

From what I've read somewhere in this forum, IT is harder than epic Titan Quest. Also, from what I've read, your wolves are supposed to be surprisingly sturdy in Epic and Legendary. I've on just started IT(I have a level 34 ranger) but my wolves are going down with each skirmish (I have 9 points dropped in wolves but not Strength of the Pack yet) Will they get any better in IT?

I'm rather embarrassed that I've died more times than I should have in last Orient and the beginning of IT. I think to date I have about 35 deaths and half of them caused by stupidly tanking and hitting my T key instead of the R for potions Oh and my AC is hmmm 268, which I think is a bit low but I can't find anything better (ok, I have Imperial Armor but it doesn't seem right for a Ranger)I currently have some "Of the Glade Armor" and still haven't found a nice helm with resistances. I do have a higher AC one but the one I wear now has decent resistances on it.

Btw, my skill distribution is ok and so is my DPS. I had a few problems with Typhon but that's only because my wrist by that point was killing me and I couldn't back up fast enough Also, right now my Strength and Dex are equal. Should I start concentrating on Dex and some in Intelligence (for 3 wolves)? Can you confirm if my AC is too low?

So any advice now that I'm in IT?

Thanks for reading my rambling!

Celeste

One thing you can do to avoid resummoning the pack so often:

When you see a Hydranon, run past it, then attack so it turns to face you instead of the wolves. You can increase your own Fire Resistance, but you can't increase the wolves'.

"Hydranon" = ancient Greek word meaning "pet slayer"

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. Also, I managed to buy an amulet with +1 to all skills - took all my gold but it was worth it and rearranged my skills a bit to access the top of the tree and the wolves aren't going down as quickly since SotP is now at 2.

What do you think about my Armor? Too low?

Thanks!

In general, pets tend to dominate early normal, get dominated in late normal, and end up being lifesavers through epic and legendary.

My ranger in normal is breezing through, only 27 atm though. I've gone with just maxing out hunting and nature masteries and continuing to increase important hunting skills such as Wood Lore, Art of the Hunt, Puncture Shot Arrows, Find Cover, and Volley. Pets really aren't that useful til epic and legendary. Once you get to epic you can respec your points if you want.

To have strong wolves, you need to (in addition to pumping Call of the Hunt) have many points in:

1. Heart of the Oak (for added health)
2. Permanence of Stone (for adding resistances to wolves)

3. Survival Instinct (very important for extending survivability of wolveS)

4. Strength of the Pack (for boosting their damage - the faster they kill, they less they die)

If you can/desire, add Plague+ to your skill set - softens up enemies (includes reducing enemy total speed and resistances) so your pets can chew them easier.

As a ranger,

5. Use Call of the Hunt before a major battle to boost pet power.

6. Cast Herbal Remedy on pets whenever you have some spare energy.

7. Study Prey your enemies so your pets can chew them easier.

Finally, a ranger with a powerful bow + Study Prey (+Plague) is supremely powerful.

And don't add intelligence!

Here's something else you should look up: "sense of humor"

What is it? Where can I kill it? Does it drop good loot? And it is worth farming?

Minirvian-thanks for the info...I'm working on those skills and have a couple of points in them all. I've learned to kite better provided shrubs and rocks don't get in my way My wolves are surviving a little bit better too it seems and I'm utilizing Study Prey which I haven't really been using that much.

In IT, can I hope to find/buy more armor with + to skills? So far I have only one item with +1 to all skills.

Thanks,

Celeste
