Default Down on the Farm

Limos I think

Remember this post.

I went through it again, and I found no Limos. There was the Liche Queen and the Grey Sisters, and various boss monsters. But another post, right below. States how important resistance is.

I think it was Negrove and ubersky. Elementalist

I've just finished Medea's Grove in chapter IV, and am right at the portal. She is a DreamKiller, and is all Dream Mastery. So far it has been challenging, but never impossible. The Liche Queen and the Giant Crab smoked me once, but once I knew of their strategy. They were not that difficult. I have another who is called Essence who is all spirit, but is only in chapter III. I have never seen armor that people speak of. I have no, blue sets. And no armor that is uber. I have farmed TQ on normal and yesterday I found some better armor in IT, but none of it was great. So my question would be before I go any further with my Dreamkiller. Would it be better if I took another character and tryed to farm in epic? Especially StoneBinder Cuffs.

BTW: When you finish IT, you go into chapter IV. Without the option of being able to do Epic. Whereas when you finish TQ the next level [EPIC], becomes available.

I personally never farm in Epic. You grow out of your epic stuff fast enough to make it not really worth it. Most of the stuff you will find when farming epic is suited for lvl30-37 or so, and these levels are reasonably easy (act4 of normal and especially the first 2 acts of epic) with gear you find on your way. Once you are around level 40 you can wear good stuff from legendary farming runs.

The thing is. I can go into legendary if I want, but I have no good armor so I have a very limited shelf life.

I've tried to re-euip my lvl 35 elementalist, and I have another at lvl 40. I've managed to get some resistances in the plus range, but I still feel naked. Should I just throw caution to the wind, and jump right into legendary and let my Core Dweller do my bidding?

I can tell you what i did when my first character reached legendary. I had no good items at all, mostly junk found on the way. At the end of act1 legendary I bought some armor at the shop that gave me decent armorrating aswell as a lot of poisonresist. I spend nearly all my money to get 80% poisonresist but with that gear i could easily tank the Hydra. I farmed Hydra for a few days untill i had all the gear i was looking for, after that everything was alot easier.

Note: This only works with melee characters, I figured out that if you stay in melee range from Hydra he only uses poison attacks. If you try to run around him you get fried by his elemental attacks.

In my opinion the Hydra is the easiest boss to farm on Legendary if you are melee, and his drops are pretty decent (nearly every run a legendary item. Hydra tends to drop alot of jewelry and armor, less weapons).

Edit:

I would just start at legendary anyway, the first two acts aren't too hard and you earn enough xp to get up a few levels (and be stronger). If it really turns out too hard you could always go back and farm for better items and a few extra levels.

Thanks Joovens. I've found one piece of armor so far that is equal to my total armor combined on this toon. So needless to say I do a lot of running around, and those damn birds that used to be a nuisance are a pain in the you-know-where. My level 35, can only go in epic. I thought he could do both areas.

I have the weapon of achilles or some such thing. It's legendary and has a base damage in the 100 range. I have found regular scrap with a better bite then my sword.

ps: Did I do a hydra in normal difficulty? I don't remember one, although anything is possible.

BTW: You say if it's to hard, I can always go back and farm for better equipment and levels. I don't quite know what you mean, as far as farming is concerned. Farm where, like?

Hydra is a seven headed dragon boss that only apears in legendary. He won't be around in Epic and normal so don't worry about him yet.

When i was talking about "going back" i ment going back to earlier acts to farm bosses. Bosses that are worth farming in Epic are the Gorgon Queens, the Telkines, Typhon and Hades. Farming in Normal is not worth it imo.

Congrats on the armor and weapon find by the way.

He...He...I guess that's a good thing in a sense, at least down the road wise. Most of it requires in the range of 400 strength. I am just over 300 so needless to say I have a ways to go.

I am going to go back. I've died 5 times already, and I've just gotten as far as Sparta. All my deaths were by measly creatures.

ps: Doing epic if only to get 400 strength seems like a good thing to do.

I think I may have struck the motherlode. Last night I did some runs in epic. The telkines and once through Typhon. I found a rune blade and rogue bracers, but that is hardly the good part. First I found Hectors Spear, and for all purposes it is one sweet weapon. Or so I thought. I also found Demeters Sorrow. I found it doesn't hit as hard as Hectors Spear, but it has a wopping big DPS. The critters don't turn to stone allways, I find. But all in all it's pretty wicked.

I found Eidons Shell, and became a melee character. Even though I was running into some decent staffs, for my level.

I also found BattleMage Greaves. They don't have much in the way of resistance, but at 200 AC and an extra +32 speed. They came in handy when I met Typhon.

ps: one good night!

BTW: Typhon and the telkines didn't drop anything, but it was the fighting that led up to it. Is where I found everything.
