Anyone found the purpose of it ? It says "Quest Item", but nothing is registered in quest book.

Only thing i noticed is that you can open the cell doors with it.

Yup. I tried opening all the cell doors expecting something to happen (boss to appear or whatever) but nothing. I guess it's to some other door (like the Secret Passage).

Did you notice lots of cells below by the passage to the final boss (basically where the key is dropped) ? There is also a door there, but couldn't find the way to get there.

I thought maybe it was apart of the quest when you free everyone in the plains. I talked to that guy but nothing happened.

Maybe the key is meant to just have? Though that would be odd. Why give us a key to open all the cages and for nothing to come of it?

also u can't open all cells/cages. there are some cages visible where u get the key, but can't get to those cages.
Maybe they are planning another expansion and those cages will be accessible after u kill the act4 boss ?

The cages below that aren't "Locked" you can't open. The cages above sometimes have treasure chests in them, and two of them have monsters. I haven't seen any actual "quest" related to it.

the cages you see on the way where you get to the key have enimies by them so something isnt right .
