Default Re: TQ Vault --- moving stuff to IT ?

Well, they wouldn't really have to modify anything, and I could easily do it myself...the difficult part (which is more Bman's area of expertise, or Raven's, etc.) is finding the new location in memory to patch...the same thing goes for the 'Patch Game' in my Defiler which is the same exact thing. If someone can get this new location for TQ 1.30 and TQ IT 1.30, then I could update the Vault myself if need be, as I have the software for it, but I don't know if there is someone that is still around that could do it, at least not without an email from me to jumpstart it. For all I know they are waiting to update it when they get a copy, IF they get a copy...

Well, SoulSeekkor - in any case, a BIG thank you in advance for your help. All power to you!

It would certainly rock if you could release a v1.30 compatiable version of TQVault, Soulseekor. You would be my hero

In the meantime, my classically named packhorses Mule1 - Mule 12 have been created and are currently lugging my TQVault treasure trove in anticipation of the arrival of IT

I'm still around sorta.

Does anyone know if TQVault itself works with IT? I would imagine the only thing "broken" is the TQVaultMon part which gets TQ to treat the character as legal. If that's the case then as Soulseekkor said it is easy to update TQVault as soon as someone that knows how finds the check that needs disabling.

My status: I don't have IT. I'm not sure if I will get it. I'd like to but...I reformatted my computer with Vista and when I went to reinstall TQ, I discovered that I have only the CD's and not the manual. Which means I don't have a cd-key which means I cannot install. Another paying customer shafted by copy protection. Too bad for Ironlore it will probably cost them a sale of the expansion.

well it wont start out of the box because it thinks its in the wrong directory

( it wont start in the dir of TQ 1.30 itself, either .. so its not a TQIT specific problem)

Some information for you all :
Just used TQvault on 1.30 original TQ.
Still works but it does not pick up the IT characters.
Since IT is installed seperate from the original its still possible to use vault for now.
Create a mule character and put stuff from vault on him in original > import him to IT and get the items you want

I mentioned in another thread that TQVault supports shortcuts to the save game folder. You can rename the old TQ savegame folder and in its place, make a shortcut with the same name that points to the TQIT savegame folder. TQVault should then find the TQIT characters

*Sorry for this double-post, just making sure Bman finds it*

Hey, welcome back Bman! Just an extra tidbit for you too...the characters that have been imported have their own folder as well, the originals are under Titan Quest, and the IT characters are under Titan Quest - Immortal Throne (or something similar). This means two sets of 'Main' and 'User' characters to load, and the file format changes some (not much, mainly affects the Defiler and nothing else).

Also, each of the character's folder have a 'Sys' folder under that which saves their CARAVAN stored items, in addition to the 'Main'/'User' folders under the IT directory there is a Sys folder also...this must be the location for the SHARED caravan storage...this is what I have gathered from the community and should give you a healthy head-start.

Soul

P.S. Sorry if that was confusing, let me know and I'll type full paths for the examples if needed.

I did as you did. I created charaters with the orignal names of Mule Sword 1-2 and Mule Armor 1-3 etc etc etc

I'll be picking up my copy of TQIT after work today.
