This is my quest, find yer own

In the most recent installment of "Developer Diary" (third, to be precise), we are told that there are some quests where you get to fight side by side with people like Achilles or Odysseus.

While the idea might sound nice, I'm starting to wonder... How do you go about something like that?? Do those characters act like the soldiers guarding cities (or the ones fighting Polyphemus), that is attack the monsters, drawing their attention away from you?? Will they simply follow you around?? Or will they be like pets, allowing you to tell them where to go and what to do??

To be honest,that's something I missed in TQ - the feeling that I'm not alone out there, that there are other people trying to save the world. Sure, you had the Promethean Order (or whatever their English name was), but all they did was irritate you ("yesh, we're a good boy, aren't we, eh?? We killed that big bad giant, yesh?? Goochie goochie goo. Now we can go elsewhere and kill another, yesh??"). I hope that having other characters actually help you out might add depth to the game. Provided, of course, they are more than just self-propelled bait.

Not to mention the fact that it would be neat to know that my Brigand can kick Achilles' butt

Lol, in the context of the game even at the end of Normal you're more badass than any greek hero of legend.

Where did you hear that?
If my Greek mythos is not so rusty, prudence will tell me to kick his heels!

Anyway, the interview did mention more scripted events but that is all there is I think. Not wanting to burst your bubble or anything but this would be good enough for me. Watching Achilles or Odysseus join in a heated battle would be excellent scripting.

That's just cuz nobody tried shooting up the poopenschaft with an arrow! I think that would have hurt him far more than some ol' tendon.

If that had been the way it unfolded in history, we'd have a "Tendon" and an "Achilles' Rectum".

Er, on topic: I just hope the greek heroes don't dominate their respective portions of gameplay.
