Default Instead of the caravan...

It is a truth universally acknowledged that an action RPG player must be in want of loot. Once all is said and done, all that remains in a game of this genre is collecting stuff. And TQ has a lot of stuff to collect.

One of the main drawbacks of the original game was the limited inventory. Some people used TQVault to remedy that, others had to make difficult choices about what to keep and what to throw away. The expansion will give us the chance to use caravans to store our stuff, but (to be frank and honest) I'm not 100% happy with that.

Ever since D2 my dream has been the possibility to buy an in-game house or something, a place where I can put all my uniques, sets and so on on display. A place where there would be shelves on the walls for weapons and mannequins on the floor for the armor. A place that would be common for all my characters (like the Cornerstone of the Worlds in Hellfire), allowing all of them to contribute to the collection, but also to benefit from the spoils of others.

We all know that there comes a point when money (or gold) no longer matters, because we have so much of it we don't know what to spend it on. That would be the perfect time to let the player visit a real estate agent in Athens or Memphis and purchase a small hut to deposit all his loot. The hut would have a limited amount of space (let's say 12 weapons and 3 mannequins), but you could increase it by spending more (just like in the case of caravans). You'd be able to see the characteristics of a given set by placing the cursor over over it, instead of having to wear it to see the bonuses. Then there is the "coolness" factor...

I know, it's hardly realistic, but it's something I'd love to see one day.

Lol @ Real Estate Agent.

You're a slayer of gods! Move into Olympus! Decorate the statues the gods erected in honor of themselves with the spoils of war!

Yaaarrrgh!

I actually like that idea for some reason... and with the house prices at the moment in the UK it's probably be the only way I'd get a place to call my own!

Great suggestion, though it won't happen.

i remember in Exile3 (a Spiderweb RPG), i actually bought a house and i could store whatever i wanted in it. but back then, i just dropped the item either on a table or the floor or the shelf (you get the idea) and it stayed there. after a while, clutter built up. plus, i couldn't see the stats (not much to see anyway) unless i picked it up and put it in my inventory.

i wish i could buy a house or a warehouse with pre-assigned slots to minimise the clutter. maybe even one room for a certain body armour part. e.g., a room for helms, a room for bracers, etc. then we add on using our gold kinda like the way we add on rooms or do renovations to our homes in real life.

Untrue. Though I prefer traditional RPGs I also heavily adore fast-paced ARPGs. And ALWAYS, the story comes first. After i've beaten the game and absorbed the story, then I go after loot, then perfection, then recognition. Although on Stronghold 2 atm i'm having a hard time getting past the menu screen **pets**

Begging your pardon, but I never said that the player is in want of loot first and foremost. I only said that loot (or, to be more precise, the search for all the uniques) plays a very important part in such games and that gamers go after it. Whether this takes place sooner (i.e. from the beginning) or later (after beating the game) is just a minor detail. The fact is that they do go after loot. And since you do as well...
