Default What's with "Brigand's Bow"?

I've stumbled upon a reference to a nice bow for new chars, a monster infrequent, the "Brigand Bow"

The thing is, it sounds like a great bow, and, it does get one to wonder, is it for real, or is it just another joke on this forum? Since it isn't in the "most wanted monster infrequents" thread, it makes one wonder even more about that bow.

And if it is real... where should one farm for it?

oh... thanks

any advice for best place to farm? Satyrs aren't known for having a lot of heroes early in the game... :|

Also... do mountain satyrs drop such bows as well?

It is real, but very rare. The reason it isn't in the Most Wanted Monster Infrequents list is because, well, it isn't that good that a whole lot of people want it. A good blue will get you further early on in the game.

It's an OK bow, but not something I'd go out of my way to farm. A Bramblewood, on the other hand...

yes, I realize it's not such a good weapon, but I've heard that it has such low reqs that a low level normal character could use the legendary version of it.

I mean... after realizing the trick with 2 x captain's rings, my battlemage was wielding 2 legendary green maces as soon as the act 1 telkines . (xmax only... with meaningless/excusable exceptions)

so yeah... if I could find something similar for bow wielders... So far I have no idea of which item offers -% dexterity requirement, or if there is such a thing, so the other choice is finding a bow with low dex requirement.

There's a Ratmen MI armour that reduces Dex requirements by 30%. I think it also applies twice for bows and three times for spears or something. I've found one or two of them but just sold them. My bow and spear toons all have high enough Dex to wield the weapons they find, and I don't twink Legendary gear down to Normal toons. So I didn't have much use for the item.

when it drops, i always get the bow from those boar riders satyrs with Envenom Weapon. i think, once, it dropped from Iznu, the dune raider chieftain, in Egypt.

the bow is pretty ok, it gives good amounts of +%AS and +%dmg.

thanks for the tip on that armour .

as for twinking... I like collecting all items, and I like using them. sure, it would be a challenging thing to play completely untwinked, and at some point in the future, I might take on such a challenge, but for now, I like the twinking.

And when, two days ago, I realized that my lvl 22 battlemage could use legendary maces and do more damage than my conqueror and harbringer were doing in epic... well... you can imagine the fun . For instance, I think it would have been almost impossible to kill xmax Typhon without those legendary maces, and even with them, it still took 15ish minutes.

------
Also, thanks for all other replies, and I only have one more question: what are the reqs for the legendary version?
