SET : Diomedes' War ==> Helm + Legs = 105 + 129 + (31) + 200 = 465 DA
Poseidon's Greaves ===> + 340 DA (+30) ......... (+300 (+32) with 3 of 4 set bonus) Blackbeard's Booties ==> + 360 DA Leg of the Flameborn ==> + 260 DA Hespera's Greaves ====> + 230 DA Greaves of the Argonauts ===> + 13 % DA Obsidian Greaves =========> + 15 % DA MI ▬▬▬ best suffix = + 75 ▬▬▬ relic Li-Nezha = + 75 (+36) ======> total = 186 DA Porphyrion' Legplates ====> + 100 DA (Required Strength = 600) Alcynoneus' Legplates ====> + 200 DA (Required Strength = 615) Batrachos Greaves =======> + 120 % DA (up to + 150 % .... ) (Required Strength = 540) In TQ : IT, uniques items are versatile, while KA green items are best for a type of targeted bonus. But I think on leggings and Defensive Ability, there are some problems: ► Batrachos provides a bonus excessive ► The largest bonus leggings (MI) are too low compared to the uniques What do you think about this ? I don't use those items, so I'm not sure if they are overpowered. Perhaps the bonus on Batrachos is a bit much.. anyway, this should not be included in the bugfix patch, since it's not a bug. I'll try to set up a proper discussion section for a balance patch, in which such things can be discussed, but it will take a while.

I am a little disappointed to see a dozen voting no comment ...
I was facing the same situation for my PATCH. There are those who say nothing, and those who perform the act of cheating. "Yes, it is a bug exploit, but I consider Homados Barbarian's Spiked or as beautiful objects". Batrachos is overpowered, I know, I operated for almost 1 year. This allows 100% dodge attacks with any build. His bonus should be +120 or +12% ..... but not +120%. By comparing the leggings, one quickly realizes the weakness of MI. But 100% of the first votes do not want that to change. I bow. PS : If troglodyte melee greaves had given +100% dexterity and strength, everyone would have shouted the scandal. But here, as is a bonus reserved for players insiders, it is unthinkable to touch them. Excuse me, but I do not find it normal ... Last edited by Ctrl-Alt-Suppr : 05-06-2008 at 02:52 PM. |

I voted "No" for the same reason yerkyerk mentioned. This would rather be an issue for a balance patch and this sounded like you wanted to incorporate it into the bugfix patch. If this issue is adressed later I might have a different opinion.

I find the DA bonus on those greaves aboslutely ridiculous. I don't get why it's so high. How on earth could someone put such a bonus in a piece of equipment?

I haven't voted, but I agree it's ridiculous. Something must've gone wrong with it. But the problem with downgrading items is that lots of people are against it because it will nerf their (already ridiculously overpowered) characters.
Still, it isn't a bug (or is it?) and thus shouldn't be a part of a bugfix patch.

For Homados/BSG, the bug was that the display didn't match the actual bonus - meaning that Homados still displayed +10% Attack Speed, so changing it back to its intended value was both reasonable and logical. (From what we've seen in the bug fixing, typos in the display are less common than errors in ArtManager.)
For Batrachos Greaves, though, the innate display of +40%/+80%/+120% shows up properly, which makes the issue less clear-cut. Maybe the makers left an overpowered item in-game intentionally. So I agree with yerkyerk that fixing Batrachos Greaves belongs in the balance patch, not the bugfix patch, as it's not a "bug" in the strictest sense. Having said that, though, it is overpowered, and I wouldn't mind seeing a toned-down version in the near future. Last edited by Pyrite : 05-06-2008 at 05:10 PM. |

this item is indeed overpowered, but what you propose (for balancing patch of course, not the bugfix patch) is underpowered 12% DA and 8% dodge? i would choose other green or even blue/purple. i think that 35-40 % would be a reasonable value (for legendary one)

Ok, well, maybe google translation altered the tone of my words and if this is the case, I'm sorry. Just to be sure that I'm not misunderstood anymore this time, I made sure that someone check my post before I post it..
So, this is not about making things complicated just for the sake of it because I like modding, this is about actually improving things in the place of developers who no longer exist. Giving Alcynoneus 400DA would be logical and coherent, but this is just a detail. On the other hand, Batrachos is a major concern. All players, even with RoC / Typhoon / Xmax ...., are almost invincible thanks to these boots, because they multiply your defensive ability by almost 2.5 . Being invincible works against 1 monster ... but also against 10! You're telling me there's going to be a war beween the unofficial patch VS the balance patch. Are you serious? What's the point ? Why don't we (the community) try to make one single intelligent patch instead ? Wouldn't it also be in the interest of the unofficial patch to rebalance things correctly ? "You've got Triumph, RoT, bonus quests .... So NO, an exploit of this kind should be dumped!" I agree with Nemhauser, 120 or 12% are low values. But in TQ: IT, used bonuses are often the same; relics, artifacts, MI ...... In addition, 16 objects give +7% to +20% defense ability. And these boots give.... +40% +80% +120% It is an abus, an exploit .... something that should change even if it penalizes most high-end builds, which are currently basically invulnerable. |
