1) There's no such thing as far as I know.
Dexterity does affect the chance to block projectiles assuming you have a shield. It's (blockChanceDV + blockChanceModifierDV) * ((dexterityDV / 1000) + 1) So a 1000 dex doubles your chance to block against projectile attacks. This , combined with quick recovery , is what can make black tigermen very annoying for a bow char. 2) Nope , only physical damage from melee attacks.

Tried it and no , OA , DA , dex , none of them affect the chance of a projectile to hit me.
4000 dex (and equal DA) against a satyr archer from normal difficulty and he didn't miss once in about 5 minutes of firing.

Anyone knows how %avoid attacks are calculated? Are they independent of DA (calculated before the DA formula) or added into the equation? |

The %avoid projectiles is it own roll with only %avoid projectiles taken into account, 100% avoid projectiles = projectile immunity no matter what as nothing increases projectiles chance to hit.
I am sure someone will correct me if i am wrong. |

1700-1800 DA will be anough against almost everything , but if you're looking for a perfect 0% chance of ever taking a hit you'll need around 1k more. There are monsters with huge OA , others with battle rage or they can just get lucky with their weapons (veteran's). And of course there are still attacks that can't be dodged. But yeah , It should work as advertised for 99% of the time. Quote:
One is a chance for you to dodge , the other is a chance for the opponent to miss. Therefore they are not added and the one from DA comes first.

Nice research,guys.
Maybe I didnt read carefully... ...but still wanna know what is the best or safest way to spend attribut points, when you reach str/dex requirements for armor and weapons. I have a lvl 63 Conq, lvl 48 Warden and lvl 40 Guardian, and using items for high speed and dmg for quick kill... I was testing something with OA/DA and IMHO 1000 OA/DA is far enough for playing in legendary. On Conq I put all points in str, some in dex (only when I got enough to use some weapons) and 10 in energy.Something similar with Warden, but bit more into dex.Guardian is pure str. Please, someone explain me for those classes. Tnx! |

You will never reach a high enough OA/DA for legendary using dex alone.
It will require help from items or skills. So those will define how much dex you need. Personally I'd aim for 350-400 dex on any melee character. Higher if it's a spear user (430 or so). Oh and 1000 OA and DA is just ok-ish in late legendary. It's enough to avoid most (but not all) criticals and to make sure your offense isn't completely crippled. But make no mistake , having 1300 or 1500 of each makes a HUGE difference. Of course you can get a similar (or even better) result by other methods , but most of them require pretty special gear.
