Default IT and mods

Will IT install and work correctly with tqdefiler, tqhades, tqchest, etc.? Or should I reinstall TQ without the mods?

My guess is that 3rd party programs will need to be updated.
I would recommend a clean install of Titan Quest prior to installing Immortal Throne.

That's what i thought. I also agree with you view on 1337 ? speak. same as speak english, support the country you live in, etc. Although I'll use the 1337-speak if I'm really drunk

So I can't just uninstall TQVault and then install IT?

As I said, TQVault probably won't work with TQ:IT until it's been updated.

Been afraid to remove TQVault for a reason. Will it affect my characters in any way what so ever if I uninstall it?

Provided you currently can load your chars in game without the help of TQVault, no, removing it won't hurt. Not removing it won't hurt either as IT should not notice it.

You simply will not be able to use it with IT chars until it gets updated (maybe it works, but you cannot bypass the in-game check, so you would not be able to load them in IT at least).

I'll try to post this as complete as I can:

1)Programs like TQ Chest/TQ Vault will probably work, unless the file format has changed considerably (doubtful), but for sure will have issues with the new items, and neither will be able to make your character work again as neither will have the ability to hack the game until they are updated (or the Defiler in TQ Chest's case). The mods will not work (if they are built-in) in the TQ Vault as well.

2)TQ Hades and other programs by Raven, myself, S_L, etc. will not work as the locations for the mods/hacks will need to be updated.

3)The Defiler should still work for loading characters, BUT you do not want to edit anything, because the locations for patching/fixing will need to be updated after I find them, and until I have money again (enough to pre-order/buy the expansion) that could be awhile after it comes out. The Defiler will tell you your version has changed and it won't let you use the hacks/mods to intentionally mess up something. The only use it will have is for backing up or looking at your character, anything else for the most part is version-specific and will not work.

P.S. Removing TQ Vault will not hurt anything, just make sure you don't delete your vault files (with items in them) and make sure you have your characters showing in-game first. You can find a thread on this site or my forums (DT Forums :: Index look under SoulSeekkor's Defiler/Portable) with links to the original game files you may need to be able to install IT without having to reinstall Titan Quest.

Make sure you load any vault characters with tqmon ONCE. This will make them appear when you load without TQvault.

Should be fine and then install IT.
