Personally, I chose Nature and became a Summoner, but only because I had 3 diff items passed down with + nature skills. Heart of the Oak is an area buff so affects your pets granting bonus HP/speed and later resists. The addition of wolves and nymph are nice add-ons too even when lower level than my CD. I like playing SP and still being in a party! Regrowth (heal) allows me to heal wounded pets essentially never losing them and the synergy Dissemination heals my whole party at the same time. Lastly, Refresh allows you to cast everything Eruption over and over again instead of waiting for cooldown.

Would you spec for max Eruption instead of Volatile Orb and it's synergies with this build?

I'm running with VO. I just tried Eruption and plan on respecing next time I see a mystic. Eruption has ok damage, but the cooldown timer is annoying to say the least. With VO, I can throw a grenade, blast 3 times with my staff and throw another grenade. I'm going to leave 1 pt in Eruption (3/6 with skills bonuses) for boss battles, but VO is much better for everybody else. I've got it timed where I can hit enemies on the run as they charge me and am pretty happy about it!
PS. where is your avatar from? I know I've seen it before, but not with the bottom triangle.

I would definately keep eruption. Volcanic orb is a mere tickle compared to it. The key to eruption is -recharge, which I unfortunately have only one piece of -15, but in legendary I am not having any problems waiting on the timer.
As for a mastery to choose from, that's a toughy. I love squall to death, but that is about all I really use aside from wisp. I may go chain lit later, and thunderball is funny. Nature would seem to make for a wonderful complement, either with plague and pets, or just in general. I can see a lot of use from nymph and wolves with heart of oak. In fact, with that many pets I doubt you even have to kill. Nature has a lot of neat possibilities. Spirit doesn't seem that exciting outside of a melee build unless you want ternion. The pets are nice, but I think you can get the same pet functionality and better support skills from nature. I can also see rogue possibly being a fun diversion with bolt traps and the mind confusion poison if you like staff attacks. |

well ternion rocks, with a decent fire staff ternion attack and decent attack speed (and of course earth enchantment and ternion maxed) you will do amazing dmg. The arcane lore will transform your staff attack in a Area Of Effect attack, which means you will do awesome dmg. The lich king is also usefull, and the Outsider is a good way for kicking boss ***! Nature is wonderful too, the heart of oak/core dweller combo provides you with a maximized and almost invincible tank, and plague is however nice for increasing dps... these are imo the two best chances... i think a summoner will be a more survivable class, but a conjurer is a fast killing machine (even against bosses)... whatever you chose, even a magician, i suggest you to not improve VO, which have imo a too much expensive cost in skill points. that's all, played with a conjurer all the way throught and can racomand it to you
