My big question for the Core Dweller is I see pretty much everyone just putting 1 point into Wildfire. I think the skill is very nice, but I'm curious on why everyone just puts 1 point into it.
My next question should be a duh to me one way or another but I'm not sure. Any way to heal the CD without Nature? Or is just recasting about the only solution? Just curious. Heat Shield and Energy shield worth investment to buffing the CD and wisp? I'm trying not to get hit now, so I'm not planning on using it for me (hopefully I don't need it). Now to my wisp question. I see a TON of builds with just 1 point into wisp and then pumping Eye of Storm. I'm curious if he's just not that viable as a combat pet. He would seem a decent pet. Now for my question on attack to go with it. I'm not sure what to go with for them for a left/right click. Flame surge? Ice Shard? Super pumped staff attack (using Nimbus and Earth Enchant) maybe? I'm thinking for right click either Eruption or Squall. Preciate any advice. |

I'm not yet 32 in Earth but I think Metamorphosis need 1pt in Wildfire, though there are better spells to put skillpoints into. The CD doesn't need this skill to be efficient.
About the "healing", with maxed Inner Fire and Metamorphosis, the CD should "heal" himself. But I'd like to know a way too. ![]() About the Wisp, I'm just trying it atm (1pt) but it doesn't seem to help a lot in combat, 'til it get Eye of the Storm. 1pt must be enough then.

The wisp has 99% dodge so hp don't really matter at all for him, that's why you see him 1pt'd but his synergy maxed. He doesn't tank either really... I mostly see him doing nothing.

Wildfire isn't much of an offense without heavy investment and even then you need other buffs (Eye or EE) to raise damage to noticable levels later on. Unfortunately it is needed to get Metamorphosis, which helps out Bob a lot. 7 points and he gets 101 Fire Resistance which means Heat Shield is a (near) permanent +15% Damage Resistance. Any points you spend on Wildfire (beyond the first) could be used to increase your damage in another way. One that would likely prove much more useful. Wildfire is still a decent initial attack for Bob since it's ranged and he'll get most of the attention by being the first to engage that group. Just don't be too surprised if one or two of the mobs in a large group go for something else, or if another group is close enough to attack at without being Provoked. Provoke isn't perfect though it helps a lot, but you will still take damage. |

Yeah, the Wisp isn't a very effective attacker. Does nothing to hold enemies' interest and doesn't actually seem to attack all that often. Not to mention that it attacks rather slowly and doesn't do that much damage. Although at level 5 it learns Thunderclap, which has the same stun effect as Storm Surge (1.5 seconds over some radius).
I don't think there are that many ways to heal summons. If you had access to Herbal Lore (if that's the correct name, the Hunter spell that gives life regeneration), that would probably work really well on the Core Dweller if you max his life regeneration to begin with. As for Energy Shield and Heat Shield, I find Heat Shield to be pretty useful for the 15% damage resistance, but otherwise I only use both skills because they look cool. |

May or may not be useful, but through all of epic, if you touch a mastery shrine, lvl 1 wisp and 5 CD will destroy almost everything together with ease. I think the wisp and CD do much more than their listed dmg. The wisp is not a very offensive pet compared to CD, but I'm thinking of putting points into it later on, maybe those that I was saving for wild fire. Still undecided.
