Default [Elementalist] - Guide needed.

Hi guys, it's Michele from Italy, I'm searching informations on building an elementalist for the ITA players and then I've to translate them to put the guide/es on a italian forum, anyone can help me?
They want to know the same things that all we're asking: points on attributes, on skills, which masteries should be choose first and why, what kind of weapon, and so on...
Thanks in advance.

I've only beaten normal so far - so I'm sure there's vastly more qualified people than me - but I can tell you what I've done and am planning to do with my character.

I started as Storm with the Nimbus line, maxing nimbus, heart of frost and static charge while trying to keep my mastery level about even with character level. At 12 I changed to 1 in nimbus, zero in HoF, and maxed squall. Remaining points went to static charge.

At this point, everything was pretty much 1-shot by squall and what wasn't would fall pretty quick to my staff's lightning (with all the +% lightning skills, I got a lightning staff pretty early). The rest of Greece and Egypt was spent on finishing up static charge and obscured visibility while working up the mastery tree so i could get the wisp (1 point only) and fill Eye of the Storm.

About halfway through the Orient, I had all of that stuff maxed and 4 points or something in lightning bolt so I started working on my earth tree, mostly for stone form (a real life saver).

After finishing off lightning bolt/chain lightening (so much fun!), I intend to get maxed core dweller with two of his three bonuses (not going to do wildfire, heard it wasn't much good) and max Eruption and Volativity (and of course earth mastery)

As far as attributes goes, I've tried to keep int and dex at a 2:1 ratio for the most part, with the odd point in health. I figure epic might get split between health and int about evenly for legendary.

All that leaves me at 60, so my skills should look like this, with a few points left for whatever takes my fancy (probably spell break / spell shock for Typhon runs).

Well, take it or leave it...

I'm in Legendary Egypt right now, lvl 51 or so. One thing you find out is that after lvl 40 or so, it gets increasing difficult to gain levels as death penalties are pretty severe, which means that realistically you'll be 50-something when you beat the game and a viable build should reflect that.

Started with max'ing Earth, specifically going for Earth Enchantment, Volcanic Orb, and Core Dweller. For VO, it's good enough to put one point in, one point in Conflagration, and the rest in Fragmentation to give the AoE damage and stun. CD does best w/ maxing the base class, a few points on the regen, one point on Inner Fire (does very little damage even in Normal), and the rest on his top skill. Good one-point investments include Stone Form (when you're trapped, say), Volativity, and maybe a few points in Eruption for those bosses.

Then maxed out Storm, but I had a bit of trouble trying to make the most of what points I had left. 1 point in the Wisp but full Eye of the Storm (w/ EE, you're doing 300% damage). Fire resistant monsters require either lightning or cold damage from Storm, so I tried a variety of things: Chain Lightning works well in Normal when everything dies to it in one shot, Thunderball is ok, combos w/ VO stun but requires better aim, Ice Shards takes too many points (most of which you've already spent on VO) to be truly useful, so I ended up w/ maxed out Squall tree, which allows my fire dmg. to still hurt a lot.

Attribute-wise, Storm and Earth both give you INT but Storm gives you DEX as well, so I'd stick w/ up'ing INT and HP (you won't have any MP issues) with enough points in DEX to wear the best armors. With this Earth-oriented build, you'd obviously want Fire damage staffs & Fire damage charms (I have one that does 140 burn damage over 3 sec, boosted my DPS by like 600 w/ all the enchantments), good relics are Prometheus' Flame and Valor of Achilles for added fire damage and attack speed + damage (staffs are...slow).

hey michele i just wanted to say that its better to start with earth.
if u go for the skill "ring of fire" right at the start u can PWN act 1 and 2 with it instantly(at max lvl)
later u can can reset that skill and put it in something else like an upgrade from the core dweller
