What's your main dmg dealer? If it's ternion then why the need for VO?

people always hate the best skills, especially when its not really unfair to call ternion unbalanced.
nevertheless i would go for max VO, but im not a big fan of the core dweller upgrades(except the last one) usually i want my dweller to soak the damage, i would never consider putting more than one point into his attack spell. i can see maxing the liche king is worth though usually he shoots himself out of energy with the arcane blast so that he can barely use the death nova. i wouldnt say that death nova is useless however so ill leave that up to you

btw if you actually go for ternion, ignore VO ;-)

Maybe, but doesn't spirit go to waste if you just use it for the lich? I mean, he's not that good.

I'm just going to assume you are talking about maxing the trees and not individual skills.

As far as I know, the maxed Core Dweller combined with the maxed Liche King decimate pretty much everything in their path (At least up until Act I Legendary) and their attacks don't have a cooldown timer.

Maxed pets rock....VO doesn't really do it for me, timer's too long for my taste.
If you're using Ternion, obviously VO is overkill. otherwise, it might be useful...but pets are never wasted points.

IMHO, the CD's ranged fire damage keeps up pretty good 'till late-Epic. In Epic Orient and Legendary it falls short, though. And even earlier, ti's only really effective if he's in your EE radius :-D

Eh. VO might have a cooldown, true, but it kills nearly everything within half a screen radius that you don't usually have to cast it again. It's only a bit annoying against bosses.

Like said before...it depends on your playstyle. I prefer maxed pets but my cuz uses maxed VO and he does just fine.
