Default Worth it to pump earth enchantment?

As title, or just max brimstone? Im a battlemage and meleeing. It only increases %fire damage right? Which would only apply to the base fire damage of earth enchantment...

EE affects all fire dmg you do. If you are not going to use Volcanic Orb or Eruption, EE isn't going to help you alot as a melee character.

It's quite good in combination with Ring of Flame in the first two acts, but after that it looses some of it's attractiveness, because the base fire dmg is a bit low.

But Brimstone is still good though for that % bonus to physical damage. And I suppose you can make EE better if you get Volativity, no?

Read the knowledge thread to confirm this....

I know it said burning damage was boosted by something either int, %fire, %element - 1,2, or all 3?

Anyhow if %fire is helping burn you will help your brimstones burn damage...Its in the knowledge thread.

Edit: just read the damage types and resistances thread which says % fire does NOT affect anything other than flat fire. I swear I read otherwise some other thread...Maybe test it when you have some skill points, a mystic, and a meathead to barbecue (watch the speed of death).

Elemental Dot's (Burn, Frostburn or Electrical Burn) are boosted only by INT and +%Burn, Frostburn or Electrical Burn.

Will the skill menue update to include the actual damage if i pump int?

The flat fire damage of earth enchantment is affected by int too right?

Unless you want to do great fire damage, you better not inverst too much in INT and go STR/DEX instead.

That's the problem with hybrids. You must put enough skill points in all three attributes in order to do well. Usually 2:1:1 (str : int : dex) tends to be a good ratio.

I like the symbol of polymath for a hybrid. You get a lot of use out of all the attribute bonuses and the speed and elemental damage.

Also a hybrid can wear armor but has some skill at spells.
