do I have to use fire damage staff to fully take an advantage of Earth Enchant or can I use any type of staff?
does + xx%Elemental Damage attribute on items apply to all elemental skills including eruption and volcano or does it only apply to staff damage? what does + xx% cast speed do? decrease casting delay? Last edited by psykalic : 03-20-2007 at 04:16 PM. |

If you're using a Fire Staff you're adding the single digit fire damage from Earth Enchantment and then doubling the whole amount based on the base fire damage of the staff itself. Everything on gear and skills except synergies to active attacks (like Ice Shard or Flame Surge) affects everything you do. Earth Enchantment is an active buff with a radius, meaning it affects party members and pets around you too, and it increases the damage of Eruption and whatnot but also if your Core Dweller uses Wildfire it'll get boosted by Earth Enchantment too as long as your pet is within 6 meters of you at the time of casting. +% Cast speed lowers the number of animation frames between initiating a spell and seeing the effect go off. Alternatively, getting gear which reduces the recharge on spells actually decreases the amount of time between confirmed uses. - Recharge is more effective than +% Casting Speed.

I have an added question, something that I'm probably not understanding correctly.
I have Earth/Storm set as masteries and have gone up to the Wisp and Eye of the Storm. At rank 1 this is supposed to give me 30% elemental bonus damage (while Wisp is active I assume) but it doesn't reflect this one my DPS. Next to that I have no real way to see if it's actually being applied to skills/staff. Is this ability bugged or simply not showing up on the character sheet as extra damage? Or does the wisp have to "cast" it first? (if so I have never seen it) Thanks in advance^^ |

First, you must cast the wisp. Secondly, the wisp has to enter combat to cast Eye of the Storm at which point the icon will show up on yours and your other pets and your party members' portraits, then you should notice your DPS increasing.
If you're playing Immortal Throne you can just set Wisp to Aggressive and he'll automatically seek targets and should keep Eye up at all times to help his own damage, cuz he's a selfish li'l mofo like that.
