I would like to test different characters, all VO-based.
I plan to: 1) prepare a character with Earth skills, and use it through normal 2) clone it (making a backup of the save files) 3) play to the end of the epic as conjurer 4) restore the backup 5) play to the end of game as summoner and so on until I decide to quit :-) The idea is: playing normal is not so challenging, so I don't want to play it many times. Therefore, I only allocate skill points when I am sure they will also be useful for the other builds (ok, I know I can remove them later, but I would avoid it if possible) At this point, I am here: TitanCalc v0.4 - Pyromancer - by stonedonkey What skills would you recommend? |

Ouch, now that I read it, my question was not clear at all.
I would like to play a bit more before choosing which path to take. Is there any skill point I could place in the Earth skill, that would make sense whatever I do next? For instance, if I spend skill points in Earth Enchantment, would that be useful for pyromancer, summoner and conjurer? |

Yes, Earth Enchantment is good for you and all your nearby pets/party members.

The reason you go Conjuror is neither CD or Lich, have you seen what maxed earth enchant + brimstone/voltivity do to a ternion attack with fire staff? Thats why I love Earth Enchant, it makes staffs into nuclear warheads. Think about it...
Lets say you have a staff thats 40-50 Fire Dmg +14% Fire Dmg +25 Burn Dmg over x secs First of all the +% stat on staff gives it 45.60 - 57 Damage Then add 100% bonus from Earth Enchant gives it 95.2 - 114 Damage Then add 5% bonus from maxed Ternion giving it 99.6 - 119.7 Damage Multiply x3 because you now have 3 projectiles... You are throwing 279 - 359.1 Damage out in Act I ![]() Now imagine this with Dark Covenant on, with a CD, Lich, and Outsider in tow... you get the picture. |

Oh and two more things, you forgot the AoE which is great as well (even after the patch IMO) and why do you post everything in bold? IMHO it's a litle anoying.

**pouts** because i'm slightly OCD and I think it looks cleaner, uniform, and easier to read. And yes you're correct I still use v1.08, also forgot brimstone adds physical damage so it's useless to a staff pretty much.

Just finished taking a conjurer through legendary (level 58). All in version 1.2. Ternion based builds seem forgotton after the 1.2 patch but this was still a very powerful and easy to play character. I hardly ever died unless I got careless. I used the lich and CD plus ternion and earth enchantment and thats about it. I never bothered to use dark covenent as I didnt need it and recharge was too long. I used a green staff of the betrayor with a Promethius relic. The combo of reduced resitance and attack damage converted to health meant I could kill everything without hardly any potions. Also very helpful was a relic with a completion bonus of 66% monster slow for 3 seconds. This is key for dealing with fast moving powerful monsters like tigermen and Dragonian lancers.
