Default magician question for new patch

so is brimstone any good with traps now? im guessing the percentage damage does nothing(since traps have zero physical damage), but they would get close to 200 burn damage per bolt (almost 100 from brimstone, plus 100% from earth enchant) if im reading it right. it sounds good to me in theory, but i could be wrong

But for Brimstone to buff your traps, you must stay within 6.0m of the trap. So you need to run in circles and stay close for the trap to maintain the buff.

yes, you do need to be close for the effect, but a magician has a couple tools for survival in the core dwellar tank, flash powder, stone form, etc.

this is all theory though, just a build im thinking of trying out

200 burn damage is pretty good and probably makes magician traps the second best in normal. but imo i prefer to see it as: 66 added fire damage, because traps usually hit once per second. the problem is again that almost all other trap helpers scale with difficulty because they add attack speed or +%pierce damage but getting the same bang out of these boni in normal isnt easy.

different sources stack = 3 burn effects from 3 traps may be active at the same time.
