Thumbs down Death Penalty...is nothing

I don't think much of the so called "Death Penalty" all you loose is Experence?? what's the point of that , you get to keep all you items and money. Sure some of your equipment may be unuseable for a while, but you in a real sense get to rebuild your character too.
You get to reassign points to your character you may have not wanted or found better served if you used them else where.

So to me there is not much point in this so called "Death Penalty"

I do not believe DP reduces you to a lower level if you die enough. Also at higher levels the XP you loose will be significant. At least that is my assumption. I hated dying in Diablo 2 when I was around the high 60s and 70s, because you visibly saw that XP bar drop, and you know it was a fair whack of play time before it would be back up at that stage.

Who cares about the death penalty. That's a feature I do not intend on exploring anyways. ^_^

It's not so much that there is or isn't a penalty, it's what it -means-. For example, you are already saying you do not intend on dying. For you it is unfavourable for whatever reason, but for others there needs to be a real reason as to why dying is not a good thing.

Games where dying is not really feared become boring very quickly, as do any games whereby the player feels unusually safe. A reason why Quicksaving is often experimented on, and things like checkpoints and limited saves are explored.

I'm pretty sure devs said you can never lose a level due to death. Though chances are, if you die enough to worry about that, you probably will want to visit a mystic and re-think your skill set choices.

World of Warcraft has no death penalty at all (you simply run back to your corpse as a spirit, and boom, yer off). So that's 6 million people who don't miss having a death penalty. (though, I'm not a WoW player)

I don't play WoW either and didn't know that. >_>;

Well, that is an interesting approach. Although in an MMO dying usually means you are hindering your party more than yourself, and you get called noob and so forth too, which is enough of a penalty not to want to do it.

I like the current death/rebirth system without terrible penalty of time/experience/gold etc. My opinion anyway.

Maybe they could bill us for dying.... Say one life is worth about $5 (unless you're me then it's worth about $500

This game is about fun and large death penalties is not fun.

10% Experience lost penalty is big enough for me

i liked the "survival bonus" you got in Sacred for not dying for lengths of time. Supposedly it gave you better item drops...such a good carrot, even if its totally inperceptible.
