Default Attribute---ranged attacks?

Witch attribute increas my ranged dmg? Should be DEX but it just gives extra offensive and defensive. Str gives extra to melee, int to caster magics? What gives extra to ranged dmg??

Please moore dmg showing on skill and buffs and so. I want to be able to calleculate my dmg and make tactics in my head when im not at the computer. It is the most funny part of hack n slash games imo.

/agreed. We need to see more numbers. Arrows are peircing damage and dex increase peircing damage, so I believe higher dex increases your bow DPS.

However, much of the damage is not caculated when you have other buffs/skills activated. Espeicaly DOT damage.

Yeah, I know that this has been requested already but I really hope the developers will implement some sort of combat log and/or floathing dmg numbers above the characters heads. With crits being twice as big for example.
For me, this feature alone makes the gameplay about twice as fun because I enjoy number crushing and am simply a statfu*k.

If the dev's won't implement it, the community can make a mod I guess ^^

You can already have critical hits floating above monsters (look in the options )

Dexterity does indeed increase Bow damage however Strength appears to increase it as well.

1) All weapons which inflict Piercing damage appear to gain damage increases from both Strength and Dexterity.

2) Weapons which do non-Piercing damage appear to only gain increases from Strength.
(This does not apply to a Staff)

3) Any weapon which does an Elemental damage type in addition to its Physical type can gain increased damage for that weapon by also increasing Intelligence.

4) A Staff appears to only gain damage increases from Intelligence. If a Staff does an additional type of Elemental damage, each type is affected seperately by your Intelligence and then added in.

What I'm not sure of is how much of each attribute is required to increase Average Damage, for its respective weapon type, by 1 point.

I agree more information is needed. If this is not to be reflected on screen through some means then it needs to be documented thoroughly; hopefully in the manual with examples. I sincerely hope the purchase of a Strategy Guide will not be required to gain this basic information.

When shopping at a Merchant make sure to try equipping different weapons as well as other items before finalizing the purchase by closing the Vendor window. As long as you don't close the window you can sell the Items you try back to the Merchant for what they cost.

I have these turned on but when they appear they are in a thin, faint, yellow text. It would be nice if they stood out a bit. Perhaps a bold font is needed.

I'm also curious as to how they are determined. I'm a Pyromancer and was testing a Bow I found. My average Damage is 35, Attack Speed 71, DPS 25. I fired one shot and the text appeared indicating a Critical, it was 25 point something. It always appears to be the same number.

Ah cool, didn't know about the crit feature. But a combat log really shouldn't be that hard since all the numbers are calculared already, so showing it would only require a small change.

Anyway, about the attribute points, maybe a little offtopic but I've read we'll be able to reset the talents trees in case you made a mistake or just want to try something new. This is a good idea (in fact, it shouldn't even be seen as a good idea more like mandatory. Like being able to select multiple units in an RTS game (rofl, gotta love dune 2)) but I was wondering if this is also possible with the attribute points... Because the items have requirements I consider it pretty dumb if we won't be able to reset attribute points aswell.

I thought the devs said that attribute points were fixed while skill points were able to be changed. I think that there is a minor penalty as well if there is a change of skill points. I also think that it was in a thread. Sorry though, for the life of me...I can't remember which one it was.

About the critcal damage I think it only shows the extra damage not the total, (normal + extra). That's sort of what I understood. But I have never gotten the game to show any critical damage even though I have turned the thing in the options on.

Thanks
