Default Two suggestions if there is enough time...

Two suggestions... and these suggestions should be OPTIONAL. Different people like different things... and including these as options would make all Diablo II / Dungeon Siege players happy.

1) The functions provided by the ALT, Z and X keys should be (optionally) automated. I get really tired of constanly pressing the X key (show all non-common items on the ground) while I play. I would much prefer to have the game automatically display all the non-common items on the ground as they fall, at all times.

2) I would prefer to left-click and release on a monster to fight and have the fight continue automatically until the monster dies, I die or I click on something else. Holding the mouse button down the entire time during a fight gets old.

Obviously, the way Titan Quest works now is Diablo II. The options I suggest are Dungeon Siege. Give us the option for either and you make EVERYONE happy!

Thanks for listening...

Hi & welcome to the forums.

1) so you want a check box option so the z,x, or alt key is always active thats a cool idear to automate it so we never have to click for it.

Big hugs,

I like those options also

More so the #1 of keeping item tags displayed than the lock on. Making me hold those keys down for hours is kinda cruel.

Totally agreed on the auto-show feature for items. Diablo 2 killed my left thumb and alt key, and this game looks set to do the same.

I might like the automatically show items one. Though it might be kind of annoying to have all the little boxes with the item names showing all the time.

Thanks

I still think the idea of making things glitter, though maybe not as obviously as in Guild Wars, would be good. I find it hard to distinguish items on the ground from piles of dirt sometimes. And I really like the idea of a scalable UI, with correspondingly scalable text for item drops, so I can make the text boxes for items on the ground larger.

All loot that is yellow and up has a "glitter" effect to help those items get noticed. As for a lock to get the loot names to stay on the screen - this presents a huge gameplay issue. Each one of those name boxes is clickable - which means if you are trying fight a group of monsters and they start dropping loot, you will now need to click around all the name boxes to continue combat otherwise you will start picking up gear instead of whacking a baddie. It was a design we had considered early on but after testing for a while it proved to be more a hinderance than a help.

My vote would be more of a "quick toggle" key we'd tap to show all items on the ground at certain times without having to keep a key pressed. So when combat in an area's over, you can hit toggle key to show everything and start sorting through what you want to keep.

A good point, one im sure the topicstarter overlooked. Anyway, i think pushing that alt button is just a part of the gameplay of the hack and slash genre, just like pushing tab for the map or the endless clicking for killing monsters. It personally doesnt bother me, it gives me more the feeling that im actually doing something.
Good to hear about the glitter effect.

Pressing often the item-filter hotkeys isn’t a big problem for me. What I don’t like so much is when you accidentally pick-up stuff while moving and fighting and not using the highlighted item names by hotkey feature.
An option to pick-up only items if hotkey-highlighted would be my wishful thinking.
I don’t know how other players usually do this but I prefer only picking-up items while additionally using the item name highlight feature.
Such option would be nice and probably easier to realize that many filter settings that prevent single types of items to be totally removed from player sight/pick-up.
