Default Damage numbers/combat log?

Sometimes, when fighting monsters or trying out new weapons or spells, I'm missing a bit of "feedback" from the game. Would it be possible to add an option to display small, scrolling damage/healing numbers above the heads of the mobs and the player's character? They could be colour coded, too (yellow for physical damage, green for healed hitpoints, blue for frost damage, red for fire damage, etc.). Alternatively, a "combat log" with a scroll option would also do -- just so that you can follow the game and perhaps analyze encounters. Or am I just too much into details?

For some reason i new somebody would get around to this.

This game is a bit diffrent from others, it requires you the player to actually be observent of the mobs, it will not show you there resists or enchants and its upto you to notice these things by visuals or sounds, as even when you are close to death there is a heartbeat sound and a very big easy to see health and mana bar. The damage you do can be found on the character sheet, but there is no numbers for reasons of when players play they usually watch the dps numbers more then they watch the actual games combat and with TQ its all about the rag doll physics, so watching a centar go flying accross the screen is more exciting then saying hey guys i got a crit of 500 damage.

I think it will take time to get used to but if you run the demo again try to take note of the combat and how you react to it and not numbers in its place, maybe you wil understand the concept better.

Btw - im not against an optional combat log if they decide to add one, anything thats optional im not against, always nice to have them just incase.

Big hugs,
Lestai

I have to admit that I'm a real number-addict. I love to see the numbers, behind the attacks, so I can analyse everything. I hope a mod will come out that will show these numbers. A combat log or something...

I think that is neat. That way when I die...I can see how much damage I took!

So now that we all agree (Lestai, I counted you in, since I am also in favour of options *grin*), we only have to convince the devs!

Could be interesting, however, having numbers floating up would really get in the way considering the amount of fighting you do, especially when using skills, there would be numbers everywhere. A log could work, something you could go back and look at to see how everything went down, 'blow by blow'

Peace
