Default Suggestion: corpse retrieval and camera rotation

I think it would benefit this game if it had corpse retrieval and camera rotation. The second is probably a common mention and I presume there are technical reasons for not including (having played the demo i realize that you shadow out obstructions - but rotation really is a lot nicer.

Probably a less common suggestion is corpse retrieval. Whlie quite annoying at time i think it adds greatly to the game joy/appreciation. Not sure from a technical perspective if this would be difficult to add (probably pretty easy for single player). One coudl debate the multiplayer issues - though this comment is really directed @ single player mode.

There a few widget comments here and there on teh demo but the two listed above are the ones that stand out the most (from my perspective).

Welcome to forums.

Corpse retrieval - there is fountains of rebirth, these are the places you will rez at and there just like way points, you also rejoin any newly created games at your last fountain of rebirth, it just makes things easy.

My first times playing EQ i got lost trying to find my corpse and try using the map but my toon was to low lvl to have map features that showed my corpse location so i had to run and find it by memory and i was upset, a good many corpses i just had to give up on and then i got forced to stay at the noobie log to lvl up and forced to remember were i was at all times, thats the stoneage of gaming and i think in time if you play the demo a few more times you will favor the fountains of rebirth, much like i do now.

Big hugs,
Lestai

I don't mind the rebirth being @ the fountain. I just think it adds to the game that if you want your equipment back corpse retrieval should be mandatory. In the end after the struggle to snatch your corpse back (and with success) it makes the game more rewarding. This is my opinion but having played many games both text and graphical it is the conclusion that i have arrived at

I'm not a fan of the rebirth foutians.I would much rather go in the underworld and complete a task to get my body back.

No corpse running. Like I said on the "other" place, the only way corpse running would be fine is if the monsters moved away from your body enough to give you a chance to get it back. When there's a pile of 50 creatures standing on your body just waiting for you to come back, coupled with xp loss for each death and being armorless and weaponless and cannot fight them off, it's just trouble. Sure you can do the d2 "chicken run" to try to guide them away but it's just a pain.

I'm fine with the xp loss on death. In higher levels this should be more scary to die.

You don't lose items when you die, so i guess thats why there won't be any corpse running as there just is not any incentive for it.

I think that's sort of my perhaps too sublte point Lestai. While equipment lost is a pain recovery can lead to a rush that makes the game more enjoyable

I have to say that the only thing having to retrieve my corpse did for me in Diablo 2 was I planted a portal prior to any big fight so I could get back to the area quickly and grab my corpse.

In Dungeon Siege 2, I have never once used the option to have my items retrieved, granted my whole party has rearely ever died, but it is a useless option in that game.
