Default Merchent Inventory Highlighting

Are there going to be any changes in the final game in regards to merchant inventory highlighting? Specifically, the distiction between "magic" and normal items. For example, a Bronze Short Sword and a Bronze Short Sword of Stength both have the same background color in ther mechant window, thus forcing me to hover over every item just to identify the ones that are magic.

Also, the red background is used for items you can't use. I think red should also be the background color for items you can't afford. Currently, the background is normal color, and the only hint that I can't afford the item is the cursor icon and the text, both of which require you to hover over the item.

If the background colors were nicely organized, I could open the merchant window, and without hovering I could spot those magic items instantly with a "Ooo what's that..."

Right now, I just groan and start to maticulously hover over every item.

Just some thoughts

I second that. Can we get that in the final or maybe the patch? Shouldn't be too much of a change.. maybe even differing background colors for magical, rare, epic and legendary according to their usual item color.

I agree. It's like shopping in discount-markets, since everything is so messed up.
I consider this as an important issue.

After reading the reason of this thread...I am in complete agreement. After touring the demo with the 3 chars, there are only going to be some things that I would be looking for at the merchants. It is annoying to go over every item every time to see if there was something that would pique my interest. Otherwise, the red is acceptable for me with knowing that I can't use it.

Agreed!

Magical items should be glowing or something

I think I mentioned this in my original comments post, but I suggested that there be a big red "x" or something over items that you can't afford. This way, it can be easily mixed with the background colors, so you can see if you either:
1) you can't afford it
2) you can't use it
3) you can't afford OR use it

I agree. This would be an improvement over Diablo, which just uses red for both.

A red X might be alittle ugly But maybe some kind of symbol in the corner, or alternate way to see that you can't afford it. I think the red background should be reserved for stuff you just can't use.

Either way, I think the whole issue should be looked at before shipping the full version

You hit the nail on the head exactly, the whole feel of the merchants is off, and I reckon it could be fixed with some nice color coding, I don't want shopping to be a chore

True, as far as you rather only look for precious magic items later at vendors, these should be marked somehow.
A different colored box-background transparency (same colors like the rarity type) would be fine.
Additionally, a filter at vendors would be even more useful (No mundane items).
