The right mouse button.

This is just a suggestion.

Currently, in the demo build, the player can assign a special attack or skill to the right mouse button. In order to change the assignment, a click on the control field and a new skill selection are required. This is a little cumbersome and hinders the "flow". Would it be possible to offer a setting that allows to change the skill assignment of the right mouse button on the fly? For instane, if "1" is assigned to a fireball, "2" to teleport and "3" to a frost nova, pressing "1", "2" or "3" would assign the appropriate spell to the right mouse button. This seems more intuitive than having to manually (through multiple clicks and selections) change the spell assignment of the right mouse button. With the current system I'm afraid I'll just permanently assign one spell/attack to the right mouse button and probably miss out on quite a bit of the game's skill wealth and potential.

There is another post on this elsewhere - but using the up/down arrows will toggle the right mouse button through all the skills you have on your hot slot bar. And if getting to the up/down arrows is not convenient and you dont use the mouse wheel to zoom a lot you can map toggle next/previous skill to the mouse wheel from the options menu. This will allow you to change up the right mouse button assignment very quickly.

The strength of the "selecting spells/skills that are assigned to the right mouse button through definable keys" is that it allows to leave the left hand in the vincity of WASD and do all the actions with the right hand (move, pick up items, open chests, strike, cast/use special attacks). The arrow keys are in an incovenient place for a right-handed player, and both them and the mouse wheel for skill/spell selection are a bit "inaccurate" since you still have to "look" to make sure that you have selected the correct ability. I only see a difficulty with this if more than just two or three "special attacks" are available. The wheel will do in a pinch, though, but an option to use other keys to switch directly to a specific right-mouse-button assignment would still be great.

Cironir, you have my sympathies. I exactly argued the same way in the other post.
“Wheeling” to the desired skill is indeed never as accurate and quick as using other-hand-hotkeys for the RMB like in D2.
I'm also not really up to look constantly in the menu bar below to check if I have "wheeled" to the correct skill now in the middle of fights.
This will really blow away some fun for me when playing active-skill heavy character types, like mages, if it won't be changed.
