Default my thoughts on the demo and how to improve this game

I think this game has very great potential to be the next Diablo. Diablo is one of my favourite all time games and this game could be it but needs a few improvments. The original makers of diablo have split off to make Flagship studios and from my studies they are not looking at making a new one which leaves other game companies to take off from where they ended.

1. ONLINE MULTIPLAYER

This game was made for online mutiplay and is beyond me why they are not going to add this. yes it has lan multiplayer but this just doesnt cut it. i want to log online and play against/with other real players out there all over the world. This was diablos main strength and lastability. This is my biggest concern and i think the games downfall if it doesnt go online.

2. Character customisation

Another big thing for me is wanting my character to look the way i want him to. I dont want to look like a generic lookalike to all players. I want to be able to pick my hair colour etc. i know they were aiming to get the player straight into the game ,so why not cater to casual and hardcore gamers. give us the option of customising our character or just clicking a button to make a defualt quick character.

3. AUDIO

As i have previoulsy read and noticed from playing when i hit or kill an enemy they make no sound. IS it a bug?

4. Loot

I am an ex WOW player and think they made a big mistake in the loot/items/armour system. If anyone wanted a full set of the best armour/items for their character all they wouild have to do is play a certain instance/boss to get it knowing they would eventually drop it. i think uber loot should be alot harder to get and should be hidden/random spwans. i want to feel expecially lucky and special for finding uber loot. plus this creates a good econpmy asnd trading sytstem online. id love if there were only 'say' 50 sets of a certain armour set you could get in the whole 'online game' making them especially rare and special'.

THIS GAME HAS TO GO ONLINE AND COULD BE THE NEXT BIG MMORPG IN ITS OWN RIGHT.

these are my thoughts and feel free to add or debate them.

I agree. They really should add something like "closed" battle net (characters stored on server) and let the game go online. This game could beat diablo , but without this, it wont.

Titan Quest is/will be a great game, and the only graphical rogue-like with the potential to come close to Diablo 2 (well, it is "heavily inspired" by D2). I agree that a network service akin to the closed battle.net is what it would take for TQ to become the spiritual successor to D2, and since it doesn't have that, it may not have the same long-term appeal (it does have an editor, though). Then again, it tooks years and years before Battle.Net made money, and for a long time they were in the deep red. It's expensive to run a service like that and it's probably very risky. Blizzard could afford this back then (and certainly now), but I understand why other companies can't launch a battle.net-like MP network.

I already pre-ordered TQ, by the way.

I understand that diablo/battlenet did not make much money for years but remember also they didnt charge a montly fee . i would be more than happy to pay a monly fee if this game went online and improved a few things as mentioned above.

I'd also pay extra for a secure realm where character data is stored, but I'm afraid we'd probably be in the minority here. Unfortunately, I expect that after a few days a lot of characters in MP games will have hacked gear and/or utopian, edited stats/skills.

As it stands MP is Lan or Net through Gamespy

8 player max group size. (co-op no PvP)

If TQ sells well, TQ2 may very well have a secure server for online play...but I don't think that will make it this time around from what I've read.

Regards,
