Default Greece was green at this very moment :)

I know it's another detail (I feel maybe a bit excessive with details, but I've been waiting too long for a new addictive hack'n'slash experience since D2)...

Three thousands years ago, Greece had a more temperate climate and would't have shown this semi-desertical look. It was greener, by far.

But, yes, it's a game, not an historical reconstitution

By the way, I hope I won't see too much swords, since greeks and romans didn't have really (I mean blades with two sharp sides).

Ok ok, Sune, stop trolling this way

I like the brown better. It just looks cooler. It could be it's not as thriving also because of the great evil across the land.

I think it's ok for them to take liberties since this takes place in a time that never existed. (ie, the mythological of the era and not the realism of the era.)

It was largely greener near the coast and along the various small inlets and in some of the mountainous areas, but even then had a fair amount of rocky/dry terrain (ideal for olives) especially due to the fairly stable Meditteranean high pressure system.
