Default Terrible Yellow and Blue Neon Checkerboard

The blue and yellow checkerboard background on the Mastery screen must be removed. It is completely obstructive. That plus the white and grey lettering on the Mastery page make it completely unreadable.

Reyla,

The blue and yellow checkerboard probably means the graphics card is out of texture memory. Try lowering your video settings in the Video tab of the options menu.

I was wondering about that graphical glitch as well ....... I have a 128MB geforce 6800GT, and 1 gig of system RAM, and I've never seen a game do that before. I'm assuming this is a flaw that is to be fixed? Games with comparable or better graphics (Quake 4, FEAR, etc..) don't have this issue on my computer.

It doesnt appear driver dependent, at least from what I can tell; I've tried two different sets (84.25 and 84.43) and both showed the same results.

It has already been fixed for the full release of the game. In the demo, can you try reducing the texture or shadow quality settings to alleviate it.

Default same issue here

Hello ;

I'm experiencing the same issue myself. After the splash screen of the roman soldier everything is blue + yellow blocks.

I've tried setting all the video options ( inside TQ ) to Low. I've set the screen size from 1280 x 1024 , to 1024 x 768 , and then 800 x 600.

My Direct X , video , and sound drivers are up to date.

My system

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061
System Model: DN126A-ABA 876X
BIOS: BIOS Date: 08/27/04 11:09:23 Ver: 08.00.09
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1536MB RAM
Page File: 229MB used, 5254MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode

Might there be any other work arounds for this texture glitch/issue floating around out there?

Thank you

Thomas

If everything is a checkerboard it sounds like the game cannot load any of the textures, which would happen if the install had an issue.

In the directory that has TitanQuest.exe there should be a a directory called Resources and inside that you should see a bunch of files like UI.arc, Menu.arc, Levels.arc, etc.

If it's not setup like that you should try reinstalling.

BUMP...

It's fixed in the release version

So not to worry.

I had it happen last night actually on a 256mb card, but was running 1200x1024 w/High setting (but mine was green/yellow) re-starting the game fixed it for me.

I checked that resources directory. It's all there. I've tried changing resolutions again and still have the blue/yellow blocks as texture for everything.

Thank you for the help and suggestions.

Just wish I could get this to display normally.

In one of the text files it listed some display value with "direct 3d" as the option. Would that be the issue? Should it be in direct draw or something else I really don't know what I'm talking about? lol

thanks
