Default Fanpatch/Disable Nighttime mod Question

Hello, I would like to ask if anyone knows if the latest version of the Fanpatch works with the install of the mod Disable Nighttime by MaxSound.

Yes and No, the fanpatch also alters engine.dll to change the version number, so if you replace it with the engine.dll of the mod the version number shown in the game menu will be 1.1 again. I suggest to use the Freeze Time of Day mod of TQDefiler instead of MaxSound's mod.

Is that all that changed in Engine.dll?

In other words, since I care more to have no nighttime and couldn't care less what number is displayed, would there be no harm to putting back the no nighttime mod?

Or does the number change impact playing online?

(The person I play online with and I were talking about finally installing the fanpatch, but we both have the no nighttime mod already.)

The engine.dll must remain the same for 2 people to play together, I think. However, if both you and your friend have the same engine.dll, it should work, as the change in the engine.dll was a superficial one on hex level, which only changed the version number.
