>>> to fit the lvl of the map

I hadn't really thought of that. Hopefully once levels start coming out, maybe they can figure out a description "template" of sorts for the creator to specify what an appropriate character range is for the map.

I think part of the concern about savegame hacking will be if I, say, host a game the day after release, and 5 people come in who are level 65 and already have all the best sets in the game. Do I start booting people? Do I list my game as "pure characters only," knowing full well I have no real way of detecting people who aren't? If that, and people "tossing" gold piles and items like in D1/D2 to try to dupe becomes the norm, than I likely won't do any "open" games of TQ.

If I "only play with friends" and "only play with people I know," well, I won't make any new friends in TQ, which is part of why I play games online.

A few weeks after Diablo came out, a guy in my game tossed me Godly Plate, King's Sword of Haste and all the best rings in the game. While we had some fun with that, ultimately my other characters I at least tried to keep clear of such ridiculous stuff (Diablo has no level requirements on items, if I recall, you could be level 2 and wield ridiculous stuff). Otherwise, it was like "I've got the best stuff now, why bother playing the game?" Fortunately I did keep playing, for several years.

I don't know why I'm babbling. Sorry, just expressing my own concerns, though I fully understand why they're not doing a battle.net type server deal out of the gate.
